Interesting to see Flood listed as OC/OL. That would seem like a lot of responsibility for a unit with so many players. Or is that a sign Sark will still be calling the plays?FWIW, looks like Sark is taking nearly all of Bama's offensive staff with him. All except the RB coach.
Update on Steve Sarkisian's offensive staff at Texas
I'm torn. Listening to the VQ podcast has me feeling a certain way. Is it really a good idea to fire Pruitt this year?
Imagine firing Pruitt and then Henry, Crouch, Bailey, Wright, Key, Beckwith, Hyatt, and others transfer and Brooks asks out of his LOI. Talk about setting back the program. This roster is just an average roster right now, you're killing the new coach if that happens. The new coach then starts with a significant deficit in roster numbers, a serious lack of talent, and very little time to add transfers, especially any good ones, who can help. Such a UT thing for this to be happening when that transfer rule is about to take affect. Just like waiting until 2017 to fire butch the first year of the early signing period.
I don't think it's so much as a blood oath to Pruitt just want to leave and escape the drama. Maybe to play for a more successful program. It’s not going to be the free for all that’s been sold. An Arik Gilbert, Toto or BJ Ojulari would be welcomed anywhere. Theo Flowers not so much. I’m also not buying that our OL have a blood oath of loyalty to Pruitt. Players will do what’s best for themselves and an opportunity to play usually falls in that realm.
spot on.Just do something. If you're keeping him, then keep him. If not, then fire him. What they're doing leaving this in limbo is doing tons of harm to our program right now. It is detrimental to Coach Pruitt as he seeks to recruit, to sign transfers, and to hire a staff, and it's harmful to the potential new HC if we went that route. It's also embarrassing to the fanbase and players. Again. Another in a long list.
What would be worse?
Firing Pruitt and those guys transferring?
or
Keeping Pruitt, going to next year, Pruitt getting fired, subpar recruiting because of the record AND those guys transferring?
You right Bass. It all starts at the top and trickles down. Firing coaches is not the problem. It’s firing coach’s and not having a plan. Then panic hiring and making the university look bad. Target who you want, get a deal, fire your coach, name the new coach the same day. And stop settling, get who you want and a proven coach and don’t let them say no. Urban says he wants $12 million, then freaking give it to him. Neyland would be packed and more than make up for it.Firing coaches isn't working. How do we clean house in the entire AD and start over? We need completely new leadership over there in all areas
