I don't know that Marrone would be a candidate here or that he would have interest in going back to college. Had they not gotten a deal done with Butch. Marrone would have been the coach here. Fulmer certainly believes in Marrone. I think Fulmer called him three years ago but Marrone was employed and wasn't interested.

That’s a weird take on Gus...I mean even Dooley could recruit here, and of the names mentioned it seems like Gus is most likely to pull an “all star” staff.

I do agree Herman is the best first call.
Kevin Steele's entire defensive staff has black listed him. None of his Auburn defensive assistants would ever work with him again, and those were the only good assistants he had.

So let me get this straight...we go from "he's definitely back" the week leading up to the A&M game...to....the investigation pops up, and "he gone" starts to be the trend...few days pass and we're discussing staff openings and if Pruitt makes a hire hes coming back....few more days and nothing has happened, sounds like the investigation isn't going to reveal anything, Fulmer wants to keep him, so "he's back"...to Texas fired their coach, we can still fire ours, hire Herman...to... recently, Doug Marrone is fired and now this investigation is going south again, Pruitt in deep doo doo, sounds like he's gone....and now tonight VQ is talking about Chaney is safe, Pruitt has talked to potential people to hire (naming specific names) and if he makes a hire this week we have our answer, all while talking about the investigation still possibly being the deciding factor in this whole thing but Fulmer still thinks Pruitt can win...and we are completely back to where we were and no one knows anything...or no one ever knew anything to begin with...

Do your own homework. Steele and his booster friends got Gus canned. That is a reported fact.

The fallout afterwards is common sense as much as it is rumors. They obviously didn't exchange Christmas cards this year.

None of those defensive assistants are loyal to Gus. None of them were ever loyal to Gus. He doesn't have anything to do with defense.

Are...you new...to coaching searches? We do them here like every three years. This is how things work.

I’m not making the outrageous claim here, you are. Asking you to give the source for it -is- doing the homework...🤷🏻‍♂️

Some interesting stuff from Tony B's blog post The Tony Basilio Show

The excerpt below seems to jibe with with LA Vol has been saying about things being "turned over to legal."

G) An Ominous Sign For Pruitt's Long Term Viability At UT:

The investigation is now out of the hands of compliance and now being conducted solely by the university general counsel and Kyle Skillman and Michael Glazier. This speaks to an investigation that's gaining steam.
