This bolded statement is why we have to hire a new coach every 3 years. This rebuild will take 4 years at a minimum and that is just to be competitive in the SEC again. High level would be much longer. If UT was is any other conference, we could rebuild in 2 or 3 years to where we compete for conference championships. But not in the current SEC.

Rick Barnes would have been run off after 2 years here if more fans cared about Basketball at UT. Remember all the "He don't even care about recruiting. He's just here to draw a paycheck" comments.

We have to give the coach more time. However, it won't happen in football.
I doubt it. We've had football coaches struggle after 2 years here (Dooley and Butch) and we gave them a 3rd year.

Also, "5-year rebuild" (I don't think it should take 5 years, but for the sake of argument let's go with that) doesn't necessarily mean you have to give the coach exactly 5 years. What if after 3 years it is obvious that no progress has been made - in fact, perhaps the team is moving backwards in some areas? In order for the rebuild to be complete in 5 years, you have to be somewhere down the path to completion at the 2, 3, 4 year mark, no?

Tell me who on this roster would start for Bama, Georgia, aTm, UF - the top four teams in the SEC. Henry T - maybe? You realize this is the #12 program out of 14 in the SEC that will once again be getting a bunch of new assistants if he remains. Most current players will hang around and see who the new coach and staff are because they will not be invited to play for other P-5 programs IMO.

Based on projected 2021 rosters..
Bailey starts for A&M (and maybe UF)
Velus Jones starts for Florida & A&M
Cade Mays starts for all 4
Wanya Morris starts for Florida, A&M and UGA
Darnell Wright starts for Florida and A&M
Jerome Carvin starts for Florida and A&M
Bryce Thompson starts for UGA and A&M
Eric Gray starts for Florida
Brent Cimaglia starts for all 4
Darel Middleton starts for A&M

Plus I’m sure if guys like Quavaris Crouch, Jaylen McCollough, Warren Burrell, Ramel Keyton would probably have developed differently if they had signed with those teams. Didn’t even count freshmen like Baron, Hyatt, Key, Omari, Morven, Wideman, Dee that could develop into stars

can confirm the infractions have now turned from being focused solely on some assistant coaches and improper benefits to the being focused on that and the role the head coach played in that as well as other violations the head coach may have been involved in. the wheels are indeed turning and the tone of the investigation has completely changed as well.
We don’t want this

No way Pruitt makes it through this, right? I absolutely see this as TN trying to proactively mitigate the potential consequences. Hopefully they put as much effort and planning in to the replacement.

I just saw the KNS had the same statement. I don't know if they reported something before I did or not.

I think after two weeks they had to say something. Now they didn't say anything specific that we didn't know so it was more an acknowledgment.

I think Pruitt's fate centers around this investigation and I think they are looking hard into the allegations. clearly the allegations haven't been immediately put to bed.

Well if all of this is true, we won't be hiring freeze. We will hire a Dooley 2.0 and restart that search again in 3 years.

Oh cool so now we might actually move on from Pruitt, right as everyone else is looking to make hires! Yep. We’re going to **** this up again. Be lucky as hell to have a Napier or Chadwell fall in our laps now.
