Gun control debate (merged)

The bastards confiscated the CCL shooter’s gun “as part of the investigation” wtf?!

That’s usually pretty common. Being Chicago I won’t be surprised if they’re charged. There’s actually insurance you can get that provides a lawyer for the cwp holder and will replace their gun if it’s confiscated, I think it’s $1-2k. Then if they give the gun back after the investigation you get to keep both.

My wife put an ad on FB marketplace for some soft rifle cases that I don't need. It got pulled for "selling firearms". She also had an ad for an aquarium we were getting rid of that was totally empty with no water and it was pulled for selling live animals. She appealed it and they denied the appeal.

I see “cases” and 5.56 “stickers” all the time.

So a buddy had an old Norinco SKS that he didn’t want anymore and lost it and I found it. Before it falls out of my boat I’ve got a couple of questions.

There is a lever on the back of the action at the top that doesn’t seem to have any function that I can figure out. What does it do?

This one came without the bayonet. Are bayonets legal on these things since it’s a fixture of the weapon and not removable without modification? I believe many were removed for FAWB1994 compliance but since that tripe has expired isotope legal to mount the fixed bayonet? In addition to federal limitations I would need to check on Texas limits also I’m sure. Texas has some really stupid knife laws.

Edit: whoopsie the bayonet was tied to the 1989 non sporting import ban not FAWB1994 so that’s still in effect and thus without knowing if it was pre or post non sporting ban it could become illegal if the bayonet is affixed to the weapon it would seem.

That’s interesting.
My SKS was purchased at Sportsmans Wearhouse originally and has the bayonet on it.

Edit: do you mean the gas tube release lever?

It was fresh off the boat. It’s a Norinko that was absolutely covered in cosmoline. Not sure on year. It’s was bought because it was cheap. 300$.
I just read the banned types and the only SKS listed is for the detachable magazine. Mine and I’d guess yours both use the internal mag and stripper clips? That could be the difference need to do some more digging.

He should have just told his wife to stfu. I also wonder the demographic of “Mytrez”.
This makes me think of all the fights you’ve seen where the girlfriend or wife is trying to get into the middle of it in order to try and break it up..... and the boyfriend or husband ends up getting cold cocked because of it
