Only three coaches are on expiring deals this year.

Most of the other assistants deals expire next year.

Meaning if we made a coaching change this year, we’d have to buy out significantly more contracts.

Not advocating for keeping Pruitt - but I just don’t see him being replaced. Haven’t all off-season. Hes your coach in 2021.

What about buying out the new coaches you are going to have to hire and offer multi-year deals? You’re just kicking the can down the road and kissing more fans off.

I hope this isn't true but you're not crazy for thinking it based on recent events.

It is true and has been for quite sometime. There really isn’t anything else that makes sense. If we had boosters and administrators that actually cared, our football program would have been fixed a long time ago.

Kiffin would have never been hired and neither would Doofus, Botch nor Pruitt. The fact that they were is further proof that we have a systemic problem of powers that be whom could care less about TN having a great football program.

My sports world sucks. Tennessee football is doo doo. Tennessee basketball lost to Alabama. Miami Dolphins lost terribly and Tua is doo doo. Next the Orlando Magic will regress and the NBA won't exist to me. 🤮🤮

Same man. Only hope is Tua is better with more weapons around him.

See, this is why I only listen to like 90% of the BS. Was said he Interviewed the other day from a different source.
I mean this cannot be a monetary decision to keep Pruitt if you are going to replace 5 assts. Each with 2 yr deals. This really tells you they are more than willing to keep him if can at least go 6-6 next year. Yuk! I mean unless Cheney is leaving and someone like Yurcich is going to replace him. When was the last time one of the complete staff overhauls did not result in the HBC still being fired the following season?

We're all gonna be eating cornbread until late Nov 2021.

So at least 5 new assistants? I’m sorry guys, he’s gone. They’re finishing up the investigation and going to hire a new HC. They must. Allowing a lame duck coach to hire 5+ new assistants is insanity. Boyd won’t let us down.

It sounds like that’s “throwing good money after bad” which we’ve been told people don’t like. Even if you like Pruitt it seems like common sense to start over.

I’m only talking about the info being on both ends of the spectrum at this point. We know absolutely nothing except there is an investigation and few coaches contracts expire this month. Everything else is rumors. I’m not getting into the whole what I think our record will or won’t be.

It's a damn shame

You don’t keep a coach and let him retool his staff if you expect to fire him soon. Thus it seems more likely CJP gets 2 more years. Hope that’s not the case.

The only hope I have is the administration is waiting to see how the investigation plays out before firing Pruitt.

Might be the reason why it’s been quiet behind the scenes according to Hubbs.

Agree. The lack of a strong public statement of support and relative quiet on hiring new assistants has to be a glimpse of hope the admin is getting things in order to make a move. Or they’re just incompetent.
