Bro, you're preaching to the choir. I want to make a change. But we aren't going to. I'm just trying to provide some talking points of optimism because I don't want to go 4-8 next year. I want to win as many games as we can.So why bring them back? If they can’t handle business get someone in there that can. At minimum they should be working out unless they’re told otherwise. No reason for them to be sitting on the sidelines. I guarantee you nobody at the Clemson, Bama, Florida just waited to be told what to do.
Everybody is cheating. Pruitt is no different than Kirby Smart except Pruitt's defense was better at Bama. Kirby just inherited a goldmine and Pruitt didn't.Pruitt is ass. Anyone can coach elite players, especially when you work under Saban, Richt and Fisher.
Pruitt cheated in HS to get kids, what does that tell you? He cant coach unless he has top tier talent, and even then I'm suspect about his coaching abilities.
If this holds true, I hope for the best. But if he gets canned at some point next season I say we go after Kiffin.Bob_Vols from 247:
After talking to a couple people this morning, I believe Pruitt will return.
I was told yesterday he was done and there would be announcement by Friday but this morning things changed dramatically. I do not think it is over but if I had to put a percentage on it I would say it’s 60/40 he returns. Pruitt has had conversations with the decision makers and presented a solid plan that included direction of his staff, making instate ‘22 class and beyond more of a priority, and adding some ‘21 transfers to this class. The biggest part of his plans is focusing on being a head coach and delegating more to his staff both on the field and off. There were several relationships that have been damaged that need repaired on Pruitt’s and the University’s side. I am told this is Plowman’s decision to make. She has counseled with many including Fulmer, BOT, former players and current boosters. Again, no decision has been made. Could come at any time between now and Sunday but I do believe Pruitt returns unless something very damning comes out of the investigation and at this point I believe it to be minor. I do believe an assistant coach could be the fall guy.
Like I said these things are fluid (although some can’t wrap their mind around that) and can take unexpected turns. I didn’t see any way after what all I was told he could be back but here we are. After hearing all this and the candidate pool, I believe it is best he returns next season. I do believe they will give him every resource to be successful next season within reason. I also believe that his seat will remain hot and he will need to show a lot of progress next season. If he is not I believe they will move swiftly and have a plan in place. They were not prepared for this season to be as bad as it was along with all the off the field issues. Again, it’s not completely over and nothing would surprise me at this point but I believe Pruitt returns.
Flame away.
just more excuses for him, not hard to figure out
ThisDon't think bringing him back is the right move. BUT Won't quit on the program. Kills me that the same ones that bitched week in and week out about kids quitting during the game are talking about quitting now. Won't stop watching. If firing is not happening, then I will support efforts to get better assistants hired and put strong benchmarks in place moving forward. Don't know how many games we will win next year, neither does anyone else on here. If you want to leave, then leave. If you don't like someone's opinion, Article V, Section 3 of the US Constitution allows you to use the Ignore button. Carry on.
Ffs, nobody knows if any of that crap is true. People learned absolutely nothing last time we did a coaching search. If it’s true about Plowman making the decision, we need to flood her with calls, emails, social media, etc...let her know that WHEN Skoal Can fails next year, it’s on here. Her ass will be on the hot seat when this is all said and done.
Do you have trouble comprehending? Let me explain, if they are still here after all the **** that has went on, they will still be here. Blowing off steam is what's happening. The bandwagon fans have been gone along time ago and will be back when/if we win again. Good day super fanThey said they’re not going to be though.. try to read
Lol you clearly don’t follow football closely outside of Tennessee if you don’t know how badly Mac left Florida. He won the East because of how bad it was at the time. Butch literally handed it to him 2 years in a row. The difference is Florida fired him when they should have instead of waiting a year too long
I don't agree with that. You could give Butch, or Dooley, or other ass coaches elite players and they wouldn't win championships with them. You could plug Butch in at Alabama today and he'd probably go 10-2.Pruitt is ass. Anyone can coach elite players, especially when you work under Saban, Richt and Fisher.

AP and Hubbs have been saying a lot of recruits are reading the board and that fan response is hurting the recruiting. I wouldn't typically care, but if this staff is coming back, we need to land that in state class next year. It is loaded and could change the direction of the program.This. If he's coming back you don't do your part to derail a great in state class. And I will never wish for my vols to lose.
Less optimism. More apathy. Yes that's a natural byproduct of what we've been through but I will not root against them. What's the harm in hoping he turns it around? Outside of a fire and hire that's the best outcome.
