Tell the same lie over and over and eventually people start to believe it..Good God, this "4 to 5 year rebuild" stuff makes me sick. It's only a 4-5 year rebuild if we were recruiting 50th in the country for the last several years.
This school has a coaching and an administration problem.
If the dude has proven that he can do it on his own, without Saban, I don't care if he worked under Saban. No, I have had my fill here at UT. Two is enough for me. Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma all seem to have done fine without tapping into Saban. Its very similar in the NFL. For many years, people tried to tap into the New England Patriots' success. Time and time again, its not really worked out. Jury is still out on Miami's Flores.
I think most of us want change, but some of us are making a mockery of how this is all playing out exactly like the Gruden thing. People coming out of the woodwork pretending to have detailed conversations with the AD (or someone close to them). Posters posting random emojis. Posters getting sucked in so ridiculously.
Etc
Agree with your point on Napier. I cringe when people lump Sark into the successful category. He is 46–35 as a HC (all at P5 schools), which is above average. Jimbo Fisher is 108–33. I would definitely put Fisher in the successful camp.If the dude has proven that he can do it on his own, without Saban, I don't care if he worked under Saban.
There aren't many Saban disciples who have gone on their own and been successful, so I'm totally leery of hiring someone like Napier, or any "prove it" coach at this point. We need a proven P5 coach.
You are obviously a young follower of SEC football. Im not going to continue to go back and forth, but I will remind you of your argument "rebuilds don't take 4-5 years" and then give me Mullen as an example. He goes 5-7, 9-4, 7-6 in his first 3. Would you accept this job of rebuild by Pruitt?Lmao one season they didn’t lose 8+ since 2000..... congrats?
