So by the numbers he is mediocre. Got it.

Average goes down if you take out his miracle first season also. Hasn’t come close to that since

Agreed. We have seen some of the new guys play pretty well, but we haven’t seen anyone just dominate. Maybe Fulky has a game tonight like he did against KY last year. Bailey is no joke though. If he gets hot, he could take a game over. Pretty excited to watch tonight.

To be fair, you said this exact same line about Mullen three years ago.

Gus is a very good coach - but things got stagnant at Auburn.

I have no problem saying we could compete for the East with Gus as our HC.

I know there a lot of moving parts today, but we can bicker about what coach would be best all we want. But we don’t know anything til something is or isn’t announced.

I’d really like to know yalls thoughts on this? Just saw it this morning, and I’m having a real hard time with it considering the issues many of our football recruits have had in their younger lives!! No second chances here with this story!!

Okay. We're on common ground here, sincerely though man I'm not upset at you or anything and I was poking you a bit to get ya riled up ;)


Again to be clear for everyone...I just don't think Gus is mediocre, but my definition of mediocre isn't 7-9 wins a season either. I would personally be fine with a Gus hire, I know he recruits SEC talent and can keep his staff together. BUT I would much rather a better passing game like Freeze would bring.

I think I said that Mullen would do better at Fl but wouldn’t recruit well enough to win championships there. Thus far that has shown to be accurate. Tho he is doing better on the field than I thought he would.

The mere fact that UT won’t hire Kiffin because he left us for the one school that was his dream and won’t hire Freeze because of something that happened years ago and has paid his dues is why we suck. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like that view is going to change either.
This could be so easy. Hire one of those 2 or at the very least give Sark a chance, he could do much better than what we have now..

our defense has a cumulative affect....we really bother ball handlers and shooters. if we can rebound and/or get a good turnover margin, we'll have a shot at really getting after them.

but they don't suck....so i expect a good game. kinda glad the crowd won't be an issue though....lol.

i'm looking forward to seeing how they do against a really quality opponent.....

Gus is a good coach, not a great one.

He’s more of a safe hire compared to other candidates that’s being thrown around.

Napier, Chadwell, and Sark are too much of a gamble.
