Sark was fired from USC bc of booze.
Gus was at a premier program that won a NC 3 years prior and Freeze was not. Context does matter.
Where have I lost my mind? You’re on here cussing me and accusing me of parroting Travis when I have no clue what he has said about Gus. Again, you’ve lost it somewhereBut he -was- fired, which is all I said.
I'm not even saying Gus is BETTER than Freeze though, I share the actual stats and say "he's not mediocre" and Bass loses his damn mind. That's the context, I can't rationalize how Gus is mediocre or trash with a better average win total, PPG and more championship games played (a total of 4 as HC/OC mind you) with more wins over Saban than any other name thrown out. That's all I'm trying to bring to light here. How he goes from a premier program in the SEC West (harder division) to the SEC East (easier division) and will suddenly get worse...well I don't believe that would be the case, but we won't know unless he's here so not worth trying to argue it.
if that play against LSU goes LSU's way instead of Auburn's, Gus is the one fired at the end of that season, not Miles. This is a weird post. And totally nonsensical. Gus averaged an 8 win season. That’s by definition mediocre. Are AU and Ole Miss identical programs yes or no?
As talented as this team is, I just don’t get the dominate feeling I had with Grant and Admiral and Bone on the floor. I’m sure it will come and we’ve definitely had some solid wins against Colorado and Cincy. I think part of it is the weirdness off no fans. The energy a full TBA brings puts it on another level. Until we notch a few Top 15 wins, I’ll remain a bit nervous.
I played golf in Destin with an AU donor and he hated Gus. Wanted so badly to have him fired this year. He got his wishif that play against LSU goes LSU's way instead of Auburn's, Gus is the one fired at the end of that season, not Miles.
he literally miracled his way to huge wins over their biggest rivals.....w/out them, he's done long ago at Auburn.
gus sucks....dude was one of the luckiest coaches i've ever seen. had that total BS call against Ark this year, a 100+ yard pick 6 against us that turned that game....
i mean jeez....and i just don't see that type of fate playing out for him forever, no matter where he's at.......lol....it's not like you can just rely on it happening, at the right time, every time you need it. but by gawd, that's what happened to him, more times than not. lol.
I have to be honest, while watching the Liberty vs CCU game, I had Butch flashbacks when they brought out the sword after a turnover. Made me pause on Chadwell. I don’t think I can take that corny s*** again.Josh Dobbs singlehandedly won Butch games against UGA and UF which are the only games Butch can hang his hat on while being here. He absolutely would not have lasted as long as he did without Dobbs being here. Heck he tried to play Worley over him in the Read no option offense for far too long, before basically being forced to play Dobbs. Butch squandered the most talented roster we had in 15 and 16 since probably the Fulmer days and couldn't even win the East after beating UGA and UF in the same year. You gotta suck pretty bad to do that. I won't even get in to the mis management of Kamara.
But trying to rate one of the above the other is kind of silly any way. I mean we're talking about 2 terrible head coaches. I was just making the point I couldn't stand Butch and his fake, corny slogans more than anything.
it is a big game. looking forward to it. i expect it to be a little slow/sloppy to start....but they get in to a flow and ultimately wear them down w/defense that turns in to offense....could see a 72-65ish type game regardless of who wins, and i'd be a little surprised if it was a higher scoring affair than that...
I'd much rather be mediocre than pathetic. We're pathetic right now but I think Gus would get us to mediocre or better, then we can worry about being awesome if you want to. I'd take 3 consecutive years of 8-4 or 9-3, that'd be Gus Malzahn. This is a weird post. And totally nonsensical. Gus averaged an 8 win season. That’s by definition mediocre. I agree with this. I wouldn’t be mad at s Gus hire. We wouldn’t sniff championships but we wouldn’t be embarrassed anymore. We’d fire him in 5-6 years because we’d be tired of 8-4 seasons. But we wouldn’t be missing bowl games and losing to KY anymore so there’s thatI'd much rather be mediocre than pathetic.
