No no no, you calm down!!! lol jk. I woke up on the sad side of the bed this morning. Yesterday i was convinced that Hugh was gonna come to UT and lead us to the sugar bowl. Hopefully in 4 hours the tide will turn and i'll be frothing at the mouth again.

I think I'd take my chances with Gus before handing the program over to someone like Napier, Chadwell, Campbell, etc. Gus has at least the ability to win a big game here and there. With the other guys we have absolutely no way of knowing if they will pan out. Seen too many "up and comers" either fall on ther face or just be completely underwhelming after landing a big job.

For the record, I don't want Gus.

gus sucks. if he doesn't have acts of God on his side, he loses some huge games against LSU, Bama and GA....and he's fired long ago.

Not the point. You said no more bama assistants. Sark isn’t a bama assistant any more than Kiffin is. He is a head coach who had an alcohol problem. He isn’t a career assistant like pru or Kirby.

Napier: 71.8% overall & no SEC experience
Chadwell: 52.8% overall & no SEC experience


Gus is the LEAST mediocre of the lot...

Take away Cam Newton and Gus is very mediocre

Good news there are a TON of options that fit this mold - even guys who would be way down on the list.

Gus Malzahn - 77-38 HC record
Steve Sarkisian - 46-35 HC record
Billy Napier - 28-11 HC record
Neal Brown - 45-27 HC record
Scott Satterfield - 63-36 HC record
Jamey Chadwell - 79-52 HC record
Jeff Brohm - 49-35 HC record

All have run multiple programs and have had success. All are offensive-minded. Would I be jacked up about everyone on this list? Not really. Are any of them guaranteed successes? No they aren't.

But all are damn sure a better bet than Jeremy Pruitt - and this list looks the same in December 2020 as it does in November 2021.
