I hope you’re right, we will see how many actually sign. They may like the coach, but do they want to sign on to program that is likely to make a change within the next 2 years?

I wonder if Price thought about that before he posted it. A number of things would have to go perfect to start going in that direction. Let alone getting there. The two assistants, so far, would have to instantly gel with the other coaches. Tennessee would have to be instantly better upfront on both sides. With the losses of arguably your best players it’s hard to see better on one let alone both. The LBs, even ToTo, are lost on anything other than playing the run. Not to mention Tennessee can’t cover even Thompson looked slow, disinterested, and unfocused.

Yup, I'm not in the boat (yet) thinking we will sink even further. Just repeat our 3 SEC wins (VU/USCe and win 1 of UK/Mizzou) from this year and 6-6 can be had. 7-5 with some luck.

I just hate this is our expectation for Year 4. This should be the writeup for Year 1 or 2.

Having a 6.5 win total O/U for year 4 should be fireable and yes that's what I think Vegas will set it at if Pruitt returns. And we haven't exceeded preseason expectations in 15 years...so there's that.

That's great and all but it doesn't change the reality. Martin's numbers that year are very similar to JG's last year. He's certainly a better qb than JG, my only point is to illustrate that he wasn't a great qb. We relied heavily on the defense and run game that championship season, Tee did just enough and came through when needed. I'm not taking anything away from him but he wasn't a great college QB, best you can say is he got the job done.

I am, admittedly, struggling with it. I have a lot of respect for him for his long years of excellent service prior to this AD gig. He does seem to be stubborn, and unwilling to admit he was wrong about Pruitt. If he is meddling, then that is a huge issue, obviously. If it means he must go, to get Pruitt to go, then I would be in support of it, though I would hate it had to be done.

I'm going to take my shot in the dark. I'll say we have an announcement at 3pm on Thursday that he is gone. Late Monday night the new hire gets leaked. Tuesday at 12pm we get the official announcement of the hire. Friday of next week, players from the coaches previous school start entering portal and 1 of them follow him.

I think he was a good QB that became great. Not the greatest. His statue and street say otherwise.

Def had some NFL HOF's around him.

If it's going to happen it should be soon imo, gives the incoming coach a better chance to run at staff.

If it has happens it better be someone that can build a program, it's going to be tough sledding.

You can make an argument that Pruitt would've won maybe 5 games with competent QB play this year but how are we completely bypassing the historically bad defensive effort & recruitment? The secondary is worse than a middle school & even Bryce Thompson admitted it's complicated. I mean how after 3 years can they still not line up right or after 10 games defend a slant???
