"For cause" is when you have slam-dunk, incontrovertible evidence, and even then the coach is going to retain counsel and threaten suit. And that will air all dirty laundry and hang people out to dry way up the chain. Nothing ever happens in a vacuum.

UT promptly and thoroughly investigated to see what was out there. And the answer is-- no cause. And no negotiated buyout unless Pruitt wants out right now-- which it appears he does not.
So it is unlikely Pruitt leaves if I’m interpreting your posts correctly? If a decision is made to let Pruitt go, is 1/1/21 the likely date a decision would be made?

It is, but that last coaching search was an epic $hit show.
So what? We got to continue on until we find the right HC not lie down and die because the court of public opinion will laugh at us...Look at Florida and the coaches they had to go through or Alabama when they went through a few before Saban fell into their laps...the point is they didn’t lay down and die because ppl were laughing at them they kept trying and look how stable their programs are now

Seems a decision has been made.

The only place there seems uncertainty is on forums and twitter.
It’s quite the opposite. A decision hasn’t been made or they would have said as much. Nobody knows what is going on it seems. If you’d quit trying to beat your chest that everyone else is wrong, you could see that. It’s a ****show right now. Nobody definitively knows anything.

But the alternative is being okay with what we have? Not seeing your guys point in this thing...
I don’t think anyone is ok with this season everyone is pissed but the point is everyone has to accept it because there’s nothing we can do about it. We accept it when we suck, we accept when were great and everything in between.

You mean like how Fulmer came out and said the bowl practice would be good for coach Pruitt?

Im not beating my chest. But I, and others, are right. Pruitt is our head coach next year. Put your cups on.

Of course he doesn’t want out. He’s not finished destroying this program yet. Gotta make sure we miss out on the 22 class

Timelines generally come into play when terminating by a specific date is tied to contractual obligations. That isn't the case here. IDT a rigid timeline has ever been part of this, other than allowing the investigation to play out and having all findings in hand.

If nothing is changing nothing will be said. Consider for a moment that the only people debating a coaching change are the bored and board fans.

I don't think Hubbs has ever pretended to know the nuances of football although I am sure he has picked up on some things. I was on Hubbs site when he originally started VQ, and it was with Alliance Sports (before Rivals). It was all about recruiting. I was a student at UT and was always interested in keeping up with recruiting. Hubbs is just a radio guy that happens to own a website. He wasn't really even trained to be a journalist.

He is someone who has connections to information. Even most journalists will tell you that they don't know the X's and O's of the sports they report on- they just have the sources to report.

Agree. And as a result...

Isn't that kind of like a football coach who doesn't learn new things and make changes in his system as it begins to fail consistently? Or a software business owner with a product that sold well 10 years ago that does not even need to exist now, yet he/she still tries to sell it. Or in your case, an attorney who was really good in his/her specialty of law, but who failed to stay current with research of case law and as applicable laws were added/modified?

Hubbs could have made better decisions with his business.

From a poster on VQ...

“ Just spoke to someone very close to Jimmy Sexton. Sexton told him a lot is going on behind the scenes. If Pruitt is replaced, they want the new coach announced very quickly as last search gave UT a black eye. Freeze has not been written off by UT and he would be in play.

I asked a few questions to which he said
“Jimmy is very careful and does not divulge much, even to me.” Believe me, he is real close Sexton.”

Truthfully I don’t care one way or the other at this point. It won’t be Freeze. VQ has made that pretty clear. But it is also clear that it isn’t Fulmer’s decision. Hence, nobody knows anything. Fulmer’s job is clearly in question too.
