Got a survey today from the SEC. I thought the second sentence was interesting. Also odd this is from the SEC and that the UTAD has not sent out a similar survey.

Dear Vol Football Season Ticket Holder,

This year has been challenging in so many ways, and we are grateful for the countless number of fans like you that safely cheered on their favorite SEC team. We understand that your team's performance is a significant part of the overall gameday experience. However, we also know how important it is to continue improving other areas of the stadium experience in order to make it more enjoyable and safer for you. We look forward to sharing the results from this survey with your school, so they can build on our conference's reputation of having the best gameday experiences in the country.

The survey can take up to 15 minutes to complete and is organized in sections.

We would like your feedback on all of the major aspects of the football experience:
- Introduction
- First Impressions
- Concessions/Catering
- Restrooms
- Video Board, Ribbon Boards and Sound
- Band/Crowd Participation
- Connectivity
- Conclusion

Thank you for your participation and feedback!

Yep, UTAD needs to do a similar one to see how many season ticket holders are going to drop off with the retention of JP and the product they are putting on the field. Hopefully it would begin to move Phil's hand in the right direction of getting rid of JP if he sees the money is about to dry up.

We need a ‘transfer portal’ for disgruntled Tennessee fans so they can see how much their support is dwindling.

Dear Herb,

Thank you for your interest in my enjoyment of Tennessee Football. If you have any pull you will help accomplish these things for UT Football:

1. Get rid of the Woo. UT hasn't won't ISH since it became a fixed part of Rocky Top.
2. Bring back the White Goal Post Pads. UT hasn't won ISH since they were replaced with Orange ones.
3. Locate and Re-install the old VOLS letters which sat atop the S. Endzone through 1998. UT hasn't won ISH since they were removed.

If UT still stinks after these improvements/ upgrades we can turn our focus on a new coach.

Thank you!

I have gotten these surveys almost every year during the last 10 or so years.

You won't see a significant drop in season tickets next year because I suspect most people rolled this year's donation and ticket fee into next year so they already are sitting on tens of thousands of renewals

I would add "make the endzone fully orange with white checkboards in the middle"

I'm not sure this years survey is very fair. This year was an anomaly due to covid and the reduced amount of fans. For me, I loved it. Easiest arrival and departure from the stadium I've ever had, parked on the street paying a parking meter $3 for the game, back to Nashville in 2.5 hrs. Cleanest restrooms I've ever experienced at Neyland, no waiting. No lines for food. No one standing in front of me, I didnt stand in front of any other. My fat azz didnt have to squeeze into a seat. Was this a true Neyland experience? oh heck no. I wouldnt have brought a rookie visitor to the games as they wouldnt get the full emersion of what game day truly is. No band sucked, no T to run thru. Different probably is the best definition but definitely not the norm

Now we're talking. People think the old checkerboards went to the edges but they didn't. It was an orange border or exactly as you put it. The white checkerboards were in the middle.

The SEC is considering some policy and in-game management changes at the spring meetings this year. The results of the survey will go a long way in determining if some of those things are actually voted on or if they are just studied further. Proposals include minimizing band performances, adding more recorded music to give stadiums more of a pro style feel, in finding out the reasons that people attend games rather than watching them on television. They want to make the experience about the experience, so fans are showing up regardless of how teams are performing on the field in a given year. They know attendance will go way up when teams are winning, they are trying to figure out what they can do at the conference level to make the number more consistent.

It's the same survey every year with the same questions. I bitch about the same things every year and nothing changes except for the prices on tickets and beer (up and up)

Well this isn't it. Compare a Titans game to a Vols game before Butch and the Titans game just feels so much more of a show and manufactured. Recorded music may help recruiting, fans have typically bought into this idea and a component of no backlash. I had much rather hear Fight Vols Fight and Down the Field instead of Welcome to the Jungle or whatever mess they play now.

Absolutely agree.

I've been to a Titans/Ravens playoff game years ago. Compare that to Vols/Sooners a few years back and there's zero comparison to the atmosphere.
