Is everyone not excited that we're gonna get another year of Pruitt??

Seriously don't think Fulmer will fire him, and I'm not convinced Boyd will fire Fulmer to make a coaching change. Hope I'm wrong, but all signs point to another year.
Yeah they aren’t firing him

What if..... The UT AD was told no to Freeze this year but was told Freeze was on secret probation for one more year and could be hired next year? What if Pruitt is the place holder for Freeze next year? Plausible?

Nope. Need a change this year. Not going thru another miserable season.

This argument is like the Covid issue excuses.

We cant hire Freeze because of the NCAA and Sankey, but Pearl and Wade are fine, lol ok. F them both. Give me 2 years of post season ban for hiring Freeze because lets be real, we ain't going post season anyways as long as Pruitt is here. lol

Is that good news or bad news? Must not have been a big deal, then. I don't want probation or anything like that, but I would take a reduction in recruiting visits and maybe a schollie or two if it meant Pruitt was out.

The concerns with the investigation were more about what they might turn up than what they already knew.

Maurer has been a transfer prospect for some time, long before the investigation. He isn't going to be the guy here.

I think someone laid it out maybe @HankHill but 8 wins should be the floor. We don’t have to dominate like the Fulmer era. But Vandy, South Carolina, Missouri and Kentucky should be wins 90% of the time at Tennessee regardless. Thats 4 wins with 3 OC wins every yr. That’s definitely not unreasonable. Don’t ya think?
Should absolutely be the minimum expectation.

Given where they currently are, I’d also state a 20% win rate over Bama, Florida, and UGA as the next step forward. That’s about 2 wins every three years over some combination of those games

I enjoyed watching Liberty vs Coastal Carolina last night. What I saw was good coaches who have been greatly helped by good running quarterbacks. Hopefully our coach (whoever it is) will let Salter do his thing. It is time for Pruitt to go, but he won't go away unless Fulmer does also. It won't bother me if they both go away.

He wasn't when they recruited him. They were desperate.

Depends on who we hire. If our boosters bring us Freeze we will be headed that direction. Butch almost got us there twice and Freeze clobbered us in our only meeting (I remember fans telling me that our team reminded them of Freeze’s first OM team —scrappy but woefully under talented). I still would like to know what the turning point for Jones was that his teams went from street fighters to quitters even as the paper talent improved. At any rate, if Jones can almost win the SECe twice then Freeze should be able to get us there. He’s beaten Kirby, Mullen, and Saban before.

IMO, it was the AJ arrest. Team lost one of its best players and unquestioned leader. It led to terrible team infighting and the way Butch handled completely wrecked trust in him and the staff. Everything snowballed after that.
