Why people keep bringing up Urban Meyer is baffling. The guy turned Texas down. Think about that. Texas. A team flush with money. Huge recruiting base. And he turned them down. Meyer is not going to go to any school other than that of an established power house. Why do you think he chose Ohio State?

I'm not bringing him up as a candidate here. I am saying that is the kind of hire required to beat Saban, and UT doesn't do that.

I don't believe this is entirely the truth. Urban is a pipe dream, he wouldn't come here for crazy money. There just aren't many coaches out there that could flip this program.

Those hoping Campbell, Napier and Chadwell can do this are going to be disappointed when we’re back in the same spot in 3 years wanting that true HOMERUN coach. None of them can compete with/overtake Mullen and Smart. Might as well reserve your 3rd place in line.

I completely agree. However the problem is there isn’t a coach out there on Urbans level. But even if there were, TN wouldn’t hire him anyway. I believe if he do hire another HC it will likely be another coordinator or google coach.

I’m not making a change for 3rd place. Just because he’s “better than what we got” doesn’t make it right. That’s a losers mentality. Thanks but no thanks.
