We get caught up in having to make decisions now, and ‘x’ coach is available and if we don’t make a move we lose him or this recruiting class will break our program if we miss out. I’m as guilty as most.
Reality is, there will always be another. I’m tired of sucking. I’m tired of making excuses to my 9 year old of why we are so bad. But it sounds as though a forced decision only restarts this endless cycle:

New coach,
New Ferber and belief we have the guy,
3 years in we hate him and want change.

If things are really as bad as they are, we have to continue playing the long game and hope the next hires for AD and then conch are the guys that lead us back. Unfortunately, our demise has lasted longer than most. But all programs have dealt with low times. Heck, some have never had good times.

Merry Christmas!

Other SEC fan bases laugh at Tennessee fans for supporting a dead program while living in 98.

Everybody supporting Fulmer because he happened to be running things back in the glory days, you are proving them right.

"Fulmer should be in charge because he's the only one who cares about winning". "Fulmer should be the AD because he is the only one who cares about UT football." It is silliness.

If you can't come up with a reason to support Phil that has nothing to do with his coaching career, you are stuck in the past. That was 12 years ago for Christ's sake.

There are two simple ways that can be easily done IF two very strong willed coaches would be humbled enough to know this thing can be fixed.

1) fulmer must get his ass out of coaches meetings and away from practice. He’s got to be an AD and not a coach

2) Pruitt must get his ass away from his coordinators and let them do their job. If chooses to do defense that’s fine but that has to be clearly defined. He must completely get his hands off the offense. He must have his EDo conversion now of next year fails

If those two things happen we can win 7 maybe 8 games next year and this program can start to have some solid footing

I hope we're able to keep English around until Barnes decides to retire. I don't know if he's the coach in waiting but he should be.

He’s a good young coach but I think he needs to be a head coach first at a lesser job.

We need rob lanier as the next coach. He’s doing a great job now

Number 2 just explained why he will never be a great head coach. He's a coordinator

That's like hiring a drug addict at a pharmacy and putting in a bunch of strict rules to keep them from stealing.

It is absurd when you have 10 other applicants who aren't drug addicts.

Why work around the problem when you can just get rid of them. It isn't like either one have any upside.

You certainly may be correct but I believe coaches can evolve. I want him gone but the fact the players love him tells me he has a chance to learn and be humbled by this season

My experience has been that those with counterproductive traits tend to lean on those traits when things aren’t going well.
