If you are wondering why just look at the 60+ pages we've dedicated to him as well as all the coverage he's getting on Rivals and Scout right now...

Some recruits are able to handle it and make the process truly about finding the right place for them...

Others...like Giles...get caught up in the rush of their new found fame and start to make it more about the attention than anything...

Some of it is a lack of maturity...some of it is a lack of guidance...but regardless, it's annoying to have to deal with the Jarvis Giles' and Marvin Austin's of each recruiting season

I understand that, and you are probably right. The thing I don't understand, Giles knew this all along. It isn't like he didn't know he would get more playing time at SC when he committed to UT before. Even when Oku committed to us, he stuck by his commitment. But now, everything is different. And really the only thing that has changed, is Fulmer got fired, which I don't think is a factor in his decision, and we now have SC's RC who was recruiting Giles there. That should be even a bigger plus for UT. I guess, the bottom line is, he is an 18 year old kid, that changes his mind like the weather.

If Oku feels like he's good enough to compete with others at UT and Giles lacks that confidence, isn't that an indicator?

Yup, but it was actually a South Carolina fan playing some games on the USC Rivals Board, then it got copied to the UT board.

His facebook status does not say what it does above. It's something else equally hard to decypher but it has nothing to do with Tennessee.

not a bad thing to write on someones wall..just not a recruit..Its kind of ridiculous and Kentucky got in trouble for it when P Patterson was being recruited because UK fans were all over his myspace saying come to UK.

haha but the irony is that he did go to UK.

having said that, i do not think its a good idea to write on recruits walls. its just tacky in my opinon

Thanks.... hadn't heard the UK story either.

Would most fans in facebook land would be aware of it?

Or is it just a basic internetiquette issue?

1. Drayton isn't coming here. If anything Kiffin will keep Drayton around long enough for Giles to commit.
2. Ever since it's been mentioned that Giles will go to USC every other post has been about how Oku is better all-around than Giles. It may be true but every one of you are saying that to make you feel better in case you lose him. Can't deny that.

Every other post of mine in this thread is to point out that I think Giles will be a Gamecock. That, and how big of a dump Columbia is....
