Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2025-26

Can I ask why people are obsessing over her? I feel like we’re a guy who’s girlfriend broke up with him and we’re Facebook stalking her. Let it go...geez!

The same reason many Lady Vol fans continue to follow the careers of Anastasia Hayes and Mimi Collins with interest, and will likely follow Massengill and Zaay Green when they suit up for their new teams.

The better question is why you’re so butt hurt over it... ?

That's what family does. You don't have to agree but you wish them well.

Nyah Green (6-1 RS FR guard, Allen, TX) has entered her name into transfer portal, out of Louisville WBB; ranked in top 25 in 2019 class/McDonald's All-American; redshirted last season; in 5 games this season: k2.2 PPG in 10.4 MPG; chose UL over LSU, Baylor, S. Carolina, Tennessee

None of the above you mentioned (all of whom I follow) disrespected the program. I’m not butt hurt, just don’t understand the obsession.

Just the pot stirrers keeping it rolling because they know mentioning her gets everyone fought up.

Most Vol fans moved on the moment she spoke ill of the program. Not happy? Fine, leave, but don’t try to tear everything down with you. The rest moved on when she transferred to UCONN 🤮🤮.

Someone said her defense was better and I started laughing hysterically. Her defense still sucks, guarantee you Geno would agree. That’s why Park-Lane had 29 points. She was guarding her quite a bit and did nothing to deter dribble penetration. Park-Lane took the ball wherever she wanted the other night, just like guards did against her at UT. EW’s knee is a permanent problem at this point. I don’t suspect she’ll have much of a pro career.
Couldn’t agree more!

Careful that you don't get stung next month.

Very possible. I think it will be a good game!

Would prefer if we weren’t playing at all though. Was not a fan of bringing that series back. Reasons aside, if Pat cancelled it, that meant it was cancelled permanently in my mind. I feel putting UCONN back on the schedule was Holly’s last abysmal gift to the program trying to save her job.

I watched the game. Westbrook did not defend Park Lane. That job fell mostly to Buecker and like most freshman she didn't have a clue about how to defend her. IMO that's typical of an AAU coached player. Auriemma will fix that. As for Westbrook I saw nothing that indicated she was slowed down by a knee problem. Actually she looked very good on the court, it was just that the ball wouldn't go in the net. Auriemma has said that she is the team leader and that's good enough for me.
I always admired Westbook's passing ability when she was a LV and will watch some UConn games just to see more. I don't know if she had a attitude problem, but was sorry she didn't give Kellie a chance.

i didn’t think it was Holly I thought the admin of the schools got involved because ESPN and the Hall of Fame for in contact with the admin of the schools to play and made it for Pats foundation and the Hall of Fame they both received donations.

To be fair I think Holly squashed the idea when Geno demanded an apology ...

I think it didn't matter who the coach was. She was done with Tennessee. Fans didn't exactly treat her well during her last year on the team.

Still believe the head coach would have the final say. Would have been a firm ā€œN-Oā€ for myself in that position. Easy to say from the outside looking in most definitely. Likely tells us about the dynamic at the time. Did not have a handle on the program if she was getting stepped over like that. Bureaucracy aside, you have to have a backbone.

From a basketball standpoint it made 0 sense for the program at the time. It drew major attention to the program at it’s very worst and set us up for almost certain embarrassment. I can appreciate that it benefitted Pat’s foundation. Was very poor timing in LV history though. We weren’t a competitive team at the time it was scheduled and it was humiliating to admit that. Serious doubts Pat would have enjoyed that.

I hear what you’re saying but i’ve also had a boss that said when I say do it then do it... didn’t matter my objection or how it made my job look.

Sometimes it is what it is and your NO and objection is there yes we will be there LOL...

Funny thing is that we actually had a one-point lead at the half in a game played at #5 UCONN.

We’re all products of our experiences! In my world I am the boss lol. You can be a leader, have an opinion and be a nice person.

Always someone above you, but you have to rise to meet them. Same is true in basketball. Holly had trouble rising to the occasion as a head coach. Lady Vol for life, but that was a dark time. One season literally affected my mental health lol.

Maybe because Tennessee plays them in a month, and from a fan perspective it's the biggest game of the year...? šŸ¤”
