Send Jeremy back to Bama and the safety of Nick's warm embrace. Leverage whatever miscues he's made we don't know about and cut the deal. Meanwhile be cutting the deal with one of the several proven, quality HC's that can be hired. Make the splash hire. Front the money and it will be paid back from skyrocketing donations and season tickets purchases. Then get out of said coaches way and support them. We, as a fan base, will do likewise if you stop trotting wannabes out there.

Just quit trying to con us. Do it Sunday.

He hates the spotlight of the HC position
He took the job purely for the money. Hey, it's hard to blame him - you're talking life-changing, generational money and he didn't want to pass it up, especially if he didn't think he'd get other HC offers at some future point in his career. In a podcast a couple weeks ago, Stephen Godfrey mentioned that when Pruitt got the job, the reaction around the college coaching community was "Wow - I figured him to be a lifelong coordinator."

Pruitt is your quintessential "ball coach," kind of like how Bobby Collins was described in the ESPN 30 for 30 about SMU. Born with a whistle around his neck, just wants to be left alone to recruit and be at football practice. I don't think he knows much about or likes building a coaching staff, worrying about the offense (even though he does meddle in it), being the face of the program and the stuff that comes with that (media appearances/events, etc.). Not an executive or manager whatsoever.

Guys Atlanta Vol is just like the rest of us. He doesn’t know what the heck they are going to do. Quit acting like he is some prophet. We are all in this misery together.
I am no prophet. And I certainly am just like the rest of you...I care about all things TN. I’m here to give you hope that there are some folks who are fed up with this administration and staff and that same group is working on trying to put together something where the juice will be worth the squeeze. Very influential folks are involved in this process..you can choose to believe or you can choose not to...that’s up to you.

I choose to believe only way they fire Pruitt is if they get their #1 target.

Can we get names?

Of course! One has a history of success and is a blue blood program. The other has never been to a final four!

Except the basketball success at UT (thanks to Bruce Pearl) is far more recent.

Since 2008 (Fulmer's last season) we've had 4 sweet sixteen appearances in basketball with 3 different coaches and an elite eight appearance (first in school history), 3 regular season SEC titles and 6 20+ win seasons as well.

Plus...Basketball coaches are so much cheaper.

Facts city. He also views TN as a job. He doesn't view it as home and he doesn't view it as a program he wants to build. Its a stepping stone for him to get where he wants to go. Back to Bama

At what point do we stop being a blue blood in football? Over a generation removed from success? I’d say We gettin pretty dang close

Football Blue Blood doesn't fade unless you're FSU and don't have the facilities.

UT has some of the best facilities in the country, a loyal and massive fanbase, amazing facilities to play in TBA & Neyland and we're in the best conference in college sports. You get a real coach on the Hill and it's not even a debate if we're a top 5-10 program again, it's when.
