While friends, Their philosophies are polar opposites. Plus, Malzahn probably will take a year off and then get another job.
What do you mean their philosophies are polar opposites? I'm not disagreeing I'm just curious. It seems like Freeze is more pass happy while Malzahn likes to pound you on the ground, but if you look at Liberty this year they are 61% run. That's likely due to personnel though. Last year they were 50/50 and had a QB pass for 3600 yards/28 TDs and their top 2 RBs combined for 1800 yards.

Maybe they have both changed. Admittedly i dont follow Auburn or Liberty too closely. Ive just always thought of Freeze as a spread/fun n gun type air attack coach at Ole Miss vs. Gus who runs the ball a ton and who used to run the read option exclusively. But I could be wrong on that. Maybe they are more alike these days than I assumed.

Same. I honestly have no idea, but that's the way I perceive the two.

both require a very good QB, like Corral at OM. Do we have that QB?
Bailey has looked great to me but Salter may be a better fit in a Freeze or Malzahn offense.. I simply don't know. Would be interested to hear opinions from people who know more about football than me. I do know Freeze beat Saban with Bo Wallace and Chad Kelly and Malzahn pulled it off with Nick Marshall and Stidham. None of those guys are world beaters but all were competent.

By all indications, Steele is a great guy, but it’s insane that they would pay $20 million+ to hire him.
Yeah I can't figure out what they're thinking. Cristobal? Steele? I mean Oregon had a good year last year but they also had the 6th overall pick in the NFL draft at QB. Just bizarre. I thought for sure they'd be targeting Freeze and/or Kiffin. Maybe they're discount shopping until the next big name emerges? I'd be surprised if they hire Kevin Steele, but there's something to be said for consistency on defense. That's half the battle. Bring in someone like Kendal Briles to run the offense and they might have something.

that new TV moolah is def going to have effects

It is definitely going to free up a little more cash to wave around. Not sure that it brings any results after the A&M game, but who knows. Just thought it was interesting comment when I heard it on the radio.

My guess is we hire Campbell next year after Pruitt is fired.

Zero inside info. Just my gut.

I've updated the poll allowing voters to switch their votes. Honestly I'm surprised it's not up around 90%. Hoping for a powerful graphic to share with Fulmer & Boyd.
