Thought that same thing. Tennessee was a deviation from his MO. With the exception of UT he’s only taken HC jobs that have gotten vacated because a coach got promoted, not because the team sucked and a coach was fired.

He’ll inherit a good team and hired Major Applewhite to be his OC, which is a pretty good hire.

Think it's more of a lack of info right now. They are going with the safe bet, but are clearly hinting it's up in the air right now. It's kind of like "duh, captain obvious." But it's probably all they know atm lol

It doesn't matter, he was sucking and Pruitt didn't have the balls to make a change. Hes not a head coach that can make the tough decisions. AKA he will prove us right and keep Friend
