If trump had won this election would the same amount of concern be placed on mail in ballots?
My opinion of what happened is that Democrats worked hard on expanding the ability of folks to vote by mailing in ballots. Once Trump and his team realized an increased turnout wasn’t a good thing for them, they began to sow the seeds of doubt abt the legitimacy of the election.
I hear you, and agree to a certain extent.Mail in ballots are never a good thing.
No well run company asked the guy who can't even make it to work on time and is at the very bottom to sit in on the board meetings to help make decisions.
I honestly don't want someone with no job, no goal of getting a job, who has lived on welfare their whole life and doesn't even have a state ID to be helping elect a politician.
There is an ongoing investigation of the "origins" of the Russian investigation... and also an investigation into various activities of Hunter Biden.
The only way we could've moved on is if Biden came out in favor of clearing up any regularities over an irregualar election. That didn't happen. The only way to truly move forward is to nominate and then elect people with more maturity and respect for norms and values than Donald Trump. We need to elect people who are capable of seeing beyond just themselves and their own selfish needs and interests. I do not believe that there is a set of conditions under which Donald Trump could ever lose an election without completely attributing his defeat to either "fraud" or "cheating" of some variety. No amount of tweaking or over-hauling of the system of elections will ever change that. It's just who Trump is.
... and William Barr has just resigned as Attorney General. Wow.
No doubt there are always going to be those claiming fraud if they lose, regardless of the party. I would just argue that trump planted that seed early once he realized the dynamics at play.
At the end of the day, I think we’re both saying the same thing. I want fair elections and I will accept the outcome regardless of whether or not the candidate I supported won.
I hear you, and agree to a certain extent.
However, I would argue that anything that increases the turnout of the electorate is a good thing, as long as it is applied to those that are legally guaranteed the right to vote.
That doesn't make any sense. It is not Biden's job to oversee elections for which he is a candidate. Biden certainly hasn't impeded any investigation. It is the job of the Trump campaign's legal representation to make the case for fraud in federal court, if they believe that fraud has actually occurred. That didn't happen. What are these norms you speak of? Being subservient to the CCP?
Trump is a Democrat. It's really not all that hard to figure out.Trump calls for stimulus checks "right now" amid progressive push for direct relief
Such a true fiscal disciplinarian
Trump calls for stimulus checks "right now" amid progressive push for direct relief
And as much you Trump supporters call others socialists and commies. Really boggles the mind.
For years the norm has been government corruption and alliances with the CCP through wall street. Little Joey has been part of that for years. No reason to think he will have a change of heart. That doesn't make any sense. It is not Biden's job to oversee elections for which he is a candidate. Norms which Trump has violated would include inviting Republican members of both the Michigan and Pennsylvania state legislatures to the White House in order to persuade them against certifying their elections. That was highly improper of a sitting president. Also, the way Trump has publicly attacked Republican governors, Doug Ducey (Arizona) and Brian Kemp (Georgia) for simply fulfilling the duties of their jobs as required by law is inappropriate.
Totally agree. I’ve seen way too many folks “living off the government” that are able-bodied and should be working and contributing to the tax base. Here is my issue. Welfare should be short term and require the recipient to be looking for work. This is not required in most states. I totally believe in helping those who need help but they must also want to help themselves.
We now have a very large welfare society where many have no goal to better themselves or get out of the situation. This sector of society will always vote for the person who they believe will give them free income. This is not good. Any many ways, this is a bought vote.
I am ok with allowing this group to vote IF welfare is reformed and they are forced to seek employment and become part of the contributing segment of society. If welfare is not reformed it needs to stay in person voting only as it requires a level of being actively involved in society that they currently do not posses.
Long term welfare funds need to be redirected to mental health avenues. This country has a large amount of people who need free mental health care and it's a travesty that mental hospitals were shut down in the 70s. The whole thing is upside down at this point.
