No, No, No, this is their Dooley hire, they don't get to skip steps. They need to make a rushed hire without a plan, give him 3 years, almost be back, then lose to a team you've been 100 times in a row with a WR playing QB, then and only then can they take the next step.

Only way the Steele talk is legit is if he has a HR OC hire he is pitching. Otherwise is recruiting smoke with signing day in two days. Then in that case I’ll be pissed for ever making fun of Fulmer for trying to hire him and then Fulmer listening to fans lol

Only problem with it being their Dooley hire is that they aren't making it at an awkward time in the calendar. The reason why we ended up with coach as bad as Dooley is because we made that hire in mid-January, once the coaching carousel had gone around.

If they hire Steele, I can see their fanbase rioting in a similar fashion to ours did with Schiano. They just paid over $20m to make a coach go away and are expecting a big name to replace him, just like we were with Butch.

Could be they plan to hire Steele as HC and Steele has Briles as his OC

You're making a judgement of a person based on rumors. I know, you say it might not really be what's going, but you make the judgement anyway.
Then you're also making a judgement of person's leadership ability based on decisions you would given those rumors. Quite a leap there. I know, it's just your opinion...

Call me crazy. I don’t want beckwith as an every down RB. He could be an elite TE that you know, can actually create matchup problems. Aka Kyle pitts....

Early signing period - there are multiple signing periods now, so the urgency isn't as great. If an Auburn commit wants to see what happens with the head job there, he can always wait until February. When Kiffin left a month before NSD, that was it. It wasn't like there was some other period.

Auburn intentionally got themselves in this position...they fired Gus. Hamilton panicked with the Dooley hire because he didn't expect he'd have to hire a head coach - Kiffin resigned and left down in the dead of night to take another job.

I don't think that Auburn is panicking with this decision, although it is certainly possible they have gotten themselves into it without a plan.

It truly is amazing how so many fanbases think the same things. Not just CFB, it's basically universal in fandom. I've seen epic rants about leadership and paranoia about refs and I could have sworn it was an SEC fan, yet it was a Premiere League soccer fan.

I guess that comes with the territory in zero-sum games.

Sounds right to me.

Sure would add excitement and intrigue (and parity?) if cfb had relegation and promotion. Have each P5 conference join with a regional G5 conference and allow 1 relegation and 1 promo each season or every 2 seasons.

I agree if we utilized the tight end more. I know Bailey has to some extent.

He's been a mystery to me. Why do we have a 6'5 guy listed as an RB, especially when we (apparently) have less than nothing at TE?
