Doesn't matter who the coach is, I bleed Orange. I'll always cheer for my Vols, no matter how dysfunctional our leadership is.I don’t think I’ll cheer for the Vols anymore if they hire a guy that was just fired for not winning enough games. That’s just me tho.
Gus is known as an offensive genius much like Pruitt is a defensive genius.
Just for info, AUB ppg ranks last 6 seasons:
2020: 83rd
2019: 36th
2018: 61st
2017: 18th
2016: 53rd
2015: 63rd
Everybody says that, but what is the alternative?
Kiffin resigned after 1 year.
Dooley went 4-19 in conference play in 3 seasons. What was the argument for retaining him and giving him more time?
Butch went 14-24 in conference play in 5 seasons, with his last season being the only winless conference season in school history. What was the argument for retaining him and giving him more time?
Pruitt will likely be 9-16 in conference play in 3 seasons.
It isn't like these coaches that we have hired have put together several good years, then we cut them loose after one bad year. Our hires have either never gotten it together (Dooley and Pruitt), or came close to getting it together before the bottom falls out (Butch).
Imagine that Pruitt not getting along with someonePoster is referring to Craig Fitzgerald, SC coach that left.
Per TOS SC - He and Aaron Feld from Oregon are top two for S&C coach with Beamer. I thought it was odd that he went to the Giants so quick after leaving the Texans. Wonder if he and JP had issues?
Pruitt was showing a lot of promise to close out last year before going off the rails this year. Chalk it up to CV and let’s see what happens next year with a normal offseason.
Dooley cared about his hair and pants, Butch was all about watches and nice suits, Pruitt just loves football. I want him to succeed here.

Pruitt's winning streak was fool's gold. The only one of those teams he beat that was worth a damn was Indiana. He's come nowhere close to success here as Butch did. At least Butch was beating Florida and Georgia, winning spotlight games like Virginia Tech, was competitive against teams like Oklahoma and Alabama, etc.Pruitt was showing a lot of promise to close out last year before going off the rails this year. We are only going to make a change if we can ensure one of our top guys identified are willing to make the move to TN. Additionally you have a sect of donors at odds with each other as usual. One set willing to make a move and go big which includes getting rid of Phil Fulmer and another set who is ok with seeing JP can turn this around with a new developmental support staff and the benefit of a Qb who can actually read a defense and do what is proper given the circumstance.

We lost to Georgia State last year coming off of a normal off season where the guy who only loves football put 11 players out there on defense that didn't know where to stand.Pruitt was showing a lot of promise to close out last year before going off the rails this year. If he’s back I hope he goes to all the coaching clinics in person and online.I actually hope Pruitt is back next year. I like the guy, especially in previous years when he was so fiery on the sideline and showed how much he cared for the team in post game press conferences. He’s someone I’d have enjoyed playing for.
We are just going to **** up the next hire anyways. I really hope he makes the appropriate changes and continues to develop as a HC. I think pulling the trigger on a guy every 3-4 years has made this job toxic in the minds of football coaches across the country. Would love to see some stability for once.
