that really doesn’t work anymore imo. There’s something to be said about comfort and having something established. Dude is a hero at Iowa state and is playing with house money now. I think the days of just offering up a coach 8-10mil and swaying him are kind of over. It worked with jimbo but only Bc he hated the admin there.

There's probably a good bit of truth to that. But offering 8-9 mil per year, full control, long term contract. Why not give it a shot if you're convinced he's the guy

I lean toward agreeing with you but if Freeze isn’t hired at auburn that tells us all we need to know.
Honestly I agree with you..... But the flip side of the coin is does it really tell us anything? There are reporters close to the Auburn program reporting different stories. Some say he is their first choice others say he's not even in play. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

That and with all of the TV deals everyone has money now. Not like the old days were just Bama, Oklahoma, Michigan, Tenn etc had all of the cash. Now all schools can truly pay well and if you can get paid well at Iowa st and have no real pressure on you that's hard to pass up.

Right, he can sit at Iowa state and win 8 games and be looked at as their saban. It’s part of the reason guys like David Shaw, pat fitzgerald etc won’t even really hear offers.

Money will always talk. The way these contracts are so one-sided in favor of the coaches, they've secured the bag as soon as they sign their name on the dotted line.

Unless you've already made your generational money (i.e., Saban, Dabo, etc.) these guys can be swayed with money. It's lifetimes of security for their families.

It just hasn’t worked that way as of late tho.
