If both jobs were open I think he’d pick UT but with it looking like Pruitt will be here next year he’ll go to Auburn if offered IMO. Too good of a job not to take.
Especially with the money Auburn would probably pay. Im guessing its going to be a 6-7 million contract.

I agree with this. I think he might pick UT over Auburn if offered by both. He's not going to wait though. He will take Auburn if we don't make a move.

Still thinking we had the talent to be sitting at 6-3 right now and feeling pretty good about ourselves.
Idk have you seen our pass rush? Our TEs? Our porous secondary and OL? Maybe we do idk, maybe we don't. We said the same stuff at the end of Butch, then within 12 months it was "we have no talent".

I'll wait and see this time around. I lean towards us having talent and luckily it is still quite young. Need to get coaches in here NOW to develop them before they are too far gone. Let's not let them become juniors and sophomores and see them too far gone when coach mcgoogle trots in here.

I don’t think he makes it. But let’s play devil’s advocate for a bit. Could this have been the thought process?

Contact tracing in K town is ridiculous. Seen my son quarantined twice now and never a symptom but for second time basketball shut down and kids missing practices and games and not even sick.

With this in mind and depth issues, staff knew they needed as many players as possible. Also knew a lot of young talent which 2 year players are HIS guys. I know when he first got here, he left players and parents who were holdovers to be with HIS guys and their parents and guys he was recruiting. It caused friction.

So, if he starts playing younger more talented guys then the 4 and 5 year guys check out early in the year and you are canceling games. Then you refund more money ect.

I do not know this but would be a reasonable reason why older guys playing in front of older guys. Also, our AD always played upper classmen as well.

Otherwise, makes no sense to not play younger guys earlier. Key showed how to defend a slant. IMO, they must beat Texas A&M to keep him and change my mind. Even then, just like next Saturday, I want to see it on the field. Not seen it in year 3. Lose big next Saturday, get rid of him. That’s the measuring stick for me.
We are going to get smashed next Saturday brother. And we will all be mad we waited a week. Maybe Auburn screws up their hire though and we steal a few recruits before firing Pruitt. Then nail our hire. One can dream. One thing I know for sure, Pruitt is not making it here.

I really can’t believe they just spent $21M to fire a coach during a pandemic. A good coach too!

I choose to believe they did this to get ahead of us.
It seems that way to me. A lot of smoke and names pulling out of other jobs for no reason. I wonder if Agents know something behind the scenes about our Job.
