Way too many people on this board are upset that we won a game. They would rather lose to Vandy and so we could hire another project coach and go back to year 0.

I have never nor will I ever pull against the Vols. However, I have never felt less excited about a Volunteer win, both during and after the game. It is very weird and sad.

2020 Vols under Pruitt beat 2 teams who fired their coaches and 1 brand new coach. Lost by double digits in every loss. Mismanaged QBs the entire season. Refused to play the best players. Recruiting has not been good at all. Why would they even think about bringing him back.
More steam!!

Not true. We are fans of good football. You're really in here beating your chest over a win against a Juco team. Lmao
No one's beating their chest. Rednecks are miserable we didn't lose to a JUCO team. They want to run off and hire a guy that had one year of success in the FunBelt because that will fix all the problems with Tennessee football.

Seeing that he is losing most of his 2021 class, how are we suppose to get better? All we asked for was to see improvement especially year3. To see a competitive team that has a chance to beat any team in the SEC on any given Saturday but what did we get, a team that looked like it was year 1 with CP not year 3.

McGhee, Lewis, Wolfe are 3 we’ve lost that we wanted. I get that it sucks but it’s not most of the class.

We want to run off a coach we know won't get it done. Its ok to be pissed knowing a win against a hapless team brings this moron back. Calling out posters for not being happy about a win is beating your chest. But carry on

Yeah. Anybody saying it’s fallen apart is being dramatic. We knew there’d be movement. You can’t lose 6 straight and expect to keep the momentum in recruiting we had. Some people need to get over themselves

In 2013, Pruitt was hired as the defensive coordinator at Florida State. In his lone season with the Seminoles, his defense ranked number one in scoring defense, allowing just 12.1 points per game, and ranked third in total defense, helping the 2013 Seminoles win the national championship.[9]

In 2014, Pruitt joined the Georgia coaching staff as the defensive coordinator. His 2014 defensive unit finished 17th nationally in total defense, and finished in the top ten in turnover margin and passing yards allowed. Pruitt's 2015 unit at Georgia finished the season ranked seventh nationally in total defense, and led the nation in fewest passing yards allowed per game.
[9]

Doubting that he forgot how to coach his defense. So I have zero answers. Except perhaps this defense requires elite talent.

Teaching and calling defense as a coordinator and as a HC are two different things. Pruitt is a DC, and a darn good one, he is not a HC.

I think Kentucky is when it should have happened, and Shrout should have gotten more than one pass attempt when he did.
I agree with you about Kentucky but Bailey should've been the one to replace JG. Shrout's got a bigger arm but he still makes poor decisions. He's better than JG but not by much.

College football seems to have changed so much since 2013/14.

Defense doesn’t really exist anymore. Definitely not elite defenses.

Look at uga. That SHOULD be a national championship caliber defense. Incredible collection of talent. But they still got rolled every time they faced good QBs.

20% of this board would not fire a coach under any circumstance and 10% want the guy axed as soon as he gets off the plane. The rest are somewhere in the middle.

The 20% are on here trying to argue a win over that vandy teams means anything, and say what you will about the 10% but they've been right the last 3 times.

And the ESPN Bonehead Play of the Game Trophy is presented to.....

Marco Wilson , University of Florida...
I didn't see the game. Was this kinda like the guy who raised his leg in the end zone in last year's Egg Bowl game? Just a dumb a$$ penalty.
