Ambiguous enough to mean anything. Probably meant Pruitt was fired if he lost. Or Chaney or Tee or any of our other fat coaches lol. Pruitt should still be fired but it won't happen until post-TAMU. Even then, we have enough excuse makers that he will get away with owning 2 of the worst seasons in our history because our power players give eff all about winning. Imagine any other coach being 'saved' by beating a Vandy team that's so depleted they had to steal players from the soccer team.
lol sorry Prof, I was just being silly with an old go-to spy story code phrase as a joke. In retrospect tho, I guess it’s totally believable so joke’s on me.

Here’s what he actually posted:

Does this look like a guy that loves his job? That's the other thing people are missing, Pruitt looks miserable and there is no visible fire in him like there was last year. I think he realized head coaching it's not what he thought it'd be, he misses being a DC, and he's stepping down at the end of the season.

Let me be the 1st to say, I respect his decision and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. 20201213_114106.jpg

I did not see it like that. Seen him miss some tackles this year that lead me to believe he got weaker and was not heavy enough. What are the comparable stats of you have them.

2020 (9 games):
4.2 solo tackles/game
7.0 total tackles/game
10.0 TFL
1 sack
1 INT
1 TD

2019 (13 games):
2.5 solo tackles/game
5.5 total tackles/game
5.0 TFL
0.5 sacks

Way too many people on this board are upset that we won a game. They would rather lose to Vandy and so we could hire another project coach and go back to year 0.

That is a stretch. We beat one of the worst teams Vanderbilt has ever fielded. There is talk that 6-6 is a good year for the Tennessee football program. You lose nothing going to year "0" with another coach when you are already on the floor with your current one in year 3.

The starters played almost the entire game. This was like playing your son in a video game. Did he get any better from whipping your ass? No.
I don't see how this game was bad for our team. Young players got chances to make plays. Bailey, Small, Beckwith, Hyatt, Wideman, Callaway, Thomas, McDonald, Lawrence, and Barron all got chances to get on the field and succeed. Vandy is awful, but I would say it's good to get the young guys out there and off our long losing streak.

Why didn't Pruitt bench JG in the 2nd half of the Georgia game.... or at the very least, early in the Kentucky game? That's what bothers me most about this whole season. I get the talk about a 5 year rebuild but the players on both sides of the ball have poor fundamentals and JP's in game decisions rarely make sense. He is what he is, a good DC that needs elite talent to be successful. 1 more year is not going to change poor execution and poor blocking/tackling. Vandy is a bad team, and the game yesterday didn't change my mind about JP.

I think Kentucky is when it should have happened, and Shrout should have gotten more than one pass attempt when he did.

In 2013, Pruitt was hired as the defensive coordinator at Florida State. In his lone season with the Seminoles, his defense ranked number one in scoring defense, allowing just 12.1 points per game, and ranked third in total defense, helping the 2013 Seminoles win the national championship.[9]

In 2014, Pruitt joined the Georgia coaching staff as the defensive coordinator. His 2014 defensive unit finished 17th nationally in total defense, and finished in the top ten in turnover margin and passing yards allowed. Pruitt's 2015 unit at Georgia finished the season ranked seventh nationally in total defense, and led the nation in fewest passing yards allowed per game.[9]

Doubting that he forgot how to coach his defense. So I have zero answers. Except perhaps this defense requires elite talent.

Or Ansley was a mistake.
