I agree a non public search is good.
But when he referred to what Austin said, well AP said he believes there is a 90% chance. Also said Pruitt told the admin this was a 4-5 year rebuild, during the interview process.

The problem with this: If this was always another rebuilding year, then why not play more young guys?

This feels like coaching 101. If you don't have the team to go win something of significance. Play the youth and get those guys ready for next year.

We're gonna go into next year and still don't know what we have in the 19 class. Which makes next year a rebuilding year too most likely.

Unlike Pruitt, he has been a head coach. Unlike Butch, he did not follow the guy who built it. Unlike Dooley, he has a winning record as a head coach. Seems like he is a really good choice if you can't get a sitting coach who is a big name.

Yeah, Napier has built that himself. They were terrible the 3 years before he got there. LSU fans seem to be fine with him if O is fired and I am sure they have seen quite a bit of him.
