Kinda true tho... it's the sheer speed and chewing action of the chain that gets you.
Yea I could see that, once it took hold it just kept grabbing for more. I’ve got the same exact grinder and @InVOLuntary my guard and screw in handle is in the box as well, but probably won’t be the next time I use it

UT has a half billion in cash and investment accounts. It's not a secret, their financials are posted on line. They are even taking on Martin Methodist in Pulaski now - which was having to be propped up by the UMC for decades. I'm sure they can do the financial projection making assumptions on the percentage of tickets sold, seat donations, concessions, gear, licensing, etc. as the economy recovers from COVID economic suicide - which it will. The new ESPN deal can be used to rebuild reserves with the $15 M annually. They probably hope boosters will step in to cushion the blow. But the blow is coming whether it happens this year or next. The question is how big of blow? They can pull the trigger now, pay out the money to change, and earn many millions back beginning next year. Or they can kick the can and hope the economy has recovered along with enough fans losing their memories to buy the tickets for next season.

That later position is what they want to do, the former position is what they should do. As my experience as a business banker for many years proved out, the old adage of "never throwing good money after bad" proved to be 100% truth. The bad is evident - in full view for all to see including the vast majority of the fan base who is out on Jeremy. "Empty Neyland" will not have to be promoted by Nega-Vols next season.
Wouldn't UT once again paying buyouts to bring in another coach be "throwing good money after bad". I know it ultimately depends on the new coach, but especially if you're outside the athletic dept, don't you have to wonder how many times you do this before it's considered "bad money"?

Yeah, the muscle damage is why they drove me all the way to UT.
Driver said "no offense but Newport or Jeff city isn't where you want to go for this"
So they left the wound open to allow it to heal from inside out I’m guessing? Did they say about how long it would take it to heal?

Okay second question, what’d you say when you realized you cut yourself, and were you in too much shock to really feel it at first? Lol

Exactly. Thought it hit my leg blunt side. Stomped on the grinder to stop it from bouncing around and blood went flying. Realized jeans were dark red and "uh oh".

Sounds like Fulmer is only in an advisory role here. Do you think he survives this? I realize the circumstances that made his job of hiring a coach made it difficult but it was his hire. I've always maintained that his future would go by the way of Pruitt's.

A decision with these financial implications needs buy-in from the top-- just like the Barnes decision did. Randy Boyd will make the call. There are many ways Fulmer can help UT-- and does-- but this was a costly setback. I'll leave it at that. Next time I'm in Knoxville, I'll be glad to buy you a beer. I think we may know some of the same people.

Oh, no. They packed and compressed it for the ambulance ride. The pic is at the hospital waiting on Xrays for bone damage(no major damage) before closing.
They used the stitches that disolve away to hold the meat/muscle together. Then used staples on the outer to keep it together. Having staples checked in 12 days, they don't know if the muscle damage will completely heal.

I’ve prob missed it in your posts but how did you react? Was it immediate pain or were you just in shock? That’s a hell of a wound

Dang man I’m beginning to believe that you and I have a lot in common, bad luck. 🤣 Hopefully everything heals well for you man

I’m still hopeful that we sign our top guys next week (those that are left), and then he’s gone Saturday night or Sunday after the A&M loss. At that point, those guys can talk to the new staff once hired, and if they want out, they can move on.
