Why would he come to this dumpster fire? That would be a bad decision. Clemson and Bama would be much smarter business decisions. UT is a joke.
I won’t disagree that we’re a joke right now but it’s gonna come down to either us or Bama. If he does come here it’s solely because of his Tennessee love. I wouldn’t blame him a bit if he goes to Alabama.

Chadwell is a legit "shot in the dark" hire, he'd be who you'd hire if we were in the same mess we were during the last coaching search.

I think he's at least got plenty of HC experience though, which puts him ahead of a Pruitt hire. But he's running a spread-option style of ball similar to Air Force, could it work at the SEC level? I don't know honestly...if he could recruit at this level it could, but would it be too "gimmicky" like the Air Raid?

If I'm going up and comer I'd lean Napier. All his experience has been Power 5 schools except one season at SC Carolina State. He took over a Louisiana team that was coming off NCAA vacated wins from Hudspeth who failed to finish over 500 in his last 3 seasons running a "clean" program, Napier steps in and has won the conference division all 3 seasons he's been there. Winning no fewer than 7 games in the regular season every season.

No worries
Pruitt said “worry about the ones we do get, not the ones we don’t get.”

I hated that quote from the moment he said it
The quote I always hated was about how he "chose" to be here, as if he was doing us some favor by taking millions of dollars to come do a job he had never held before.

I agree with you. I also agree we have talent, but don't have the coaches that know how to get the best out of its talent. I am 100% behind giving the right guy 5 years to get to Atlanta if he's showing improvement, recruiting is where it needs to be ans he's not a headache behind the scenes. Imo opinion by year 3 8 wins should be the ceiling of the program to complete that 5 year plan. This season has proven we don't have the coaches in place to pull off that plan. I see no reason the right guy wouldn't have won at least 5 this year.

We have underachievers at every level in the football program. I'm not in favor of giving anybody-- the current HC or a new one-- a free five to fix things that can be fixed in less time than that. It's possible to see progress right away and build incrementally from there. Everybody has to buy in, be accountable and be in lockstep. We're not that. And yes, it flows from the top and always has.

Do you think Pruitt could fix things like that this off season?
