Probably a hot take, but I think that Pruitt and Kirby are alike in a ton of ways. Kirby happened to take a job at a program in much better shape where it is easier to recruit.Pruitt isn't a better coach than Saban or Mullen.
He may be on a similar level to Smart, but can't recruit as good as him.
Pruitt can't compete with our big three on the recruiting trail.
Since he can't outcoach them or recruit better than them, we will never beat them with Pruitt.
We will be middle of pack or worse every year under Pruitt.
If Kirby was at Tennessee and Pruitt was at Georgia, I think the performance of the teams would be the same. Kirby would look like an absolute dope of a coach if he was in Knoxville; there's no way he'd be making this work, because he can't handle QBs or offenses either and they run a very similar style of defense. Kirby simply has better players and a more competent administration behind him.
