Probably a hot take, but I think that Pruitt and Kirby are alike in a ton of ways. Kirby happened to take a job at a program in much better shape where it is easier to recruit.

If Kirby was at Tennessee and Pruitt was at Georgia, I think the performance of the teams would be the same. Kirby would look like an absolute dope of a coach if he was in Knoxville; there's no way he'd be making this work, because he can't handle QBs or offenses either and they run a very similar style of defense. Kirby simply has better players and a more competent administration behind him.

Okay, we definitely don't agree on that. Lol.

Tennessee should never settle with a guy like Pruitt.

I'm expecting the recruiting class to fall even further. It should, the team has played like garbage.

A first time head coach with less talent is not a good solution.

I know Malzahn isn't as good of a coach as Saban, but with enough talent you can win every now and then.

Kirby, Pruitt, and Muschamp are all the same coach in my opinion. They’d all do well at UGA based off of talent advantages and be mediocre/underwhelming at UT.

I knew we were in trouble with the '18 class because if Pruitt were the recruiter we had pegged him to be, he would have picked off some guys from Bama and Georgia.

Good point about throwing Muschamp in, although you could argue he's worse than Kirby because unlike Pruitt he actually did inherit a top program that was in relatively good shape (Florida) and was terrible there. At least Kirby is still good at Georgia; he hasn't run them into the ground.

Keeping the program out of hot water has to be included in such evaluations as well

We try and hire Bobo, we are going to go to another level of Stupid and if it wasn't bad enough already, folks are gonna have a field day making fun of us... We'll look like complete jack-wagons, or as @bignewt would say a bunch of twat-waffles...

Either completely clean house (except for Jay and Tee), or keep what we got if he's gone in a year anyway to minimize the buyouts...

It is what it is at this point.

Tennessee just can't figure it out. I think it's right in front of their eyes, but I don't know what goes on behind the scenes.

If it's anything like the texts between Currie and Davenport, then it's no wonder football is where it's at.

Bruh.... at this point, with all the idiocy going on, what makes you think UT's ADMIN is gonna do anything smart and calculated for the long term health of the program? Another terrible coach, another year too long, another drop in the program... rinse, repeat.

If Pruitt remains next year, I think there's a chance we have some kind of start to next year that is beyond the pale. Much worse than 2019's start...I mean like starting 0-3 with blowout losses to Bowling Green and Pitt and losing to Florida by 60.

That is why Mullen would have been a great hire. With the dynamics of Tennessee Football, we must find someone that can develop talent, coach x & o's and provide stability. Tennessee will recruit itself top 15. I agree with your statement, I think Pruitt could have similar results as Kirby at Georgia.
