I’m not “blaming” anyone by telling the truth. If you think that him being #3 now after 2+ years of musical qb is a direct result of individual talent rather than a coaching fail? You’re on the wrong board. VN posters are out of your league.

If you look at the people responding to you and the manner in which they are debating you, I would take a long good look at how people view your credibility. You are viewed as blindly in BM’s corner regardless of the evidence against your positions.

If he is good enough he would be the starter regardless of the coaching ineptitude. He didn’t stand out enough. Many successful people in all works of life have made their bed with drive, determination and making their own luck. BM is not going to improve his situation any better criticizing a fan base on social media.
His focus is misguided.

Yes.... by those that don’t care to listen. One of my biggest rivals on this board for the last two years finally had a legit conversation with me and “seems” to feel a little differently than he did just last night. Maybe going forward now we can have more “civilized” disagreements. I can be very easy to get along with or I can be the guy that you probably shouldn’t engage without info.

I get that he loves his teammates. But he REALLY REALLY needs to have a more business type approach. His focus should be RESEARCH on what QBs that have progressed to the next level that had his skillset and who they played for....
Instead of getting caught up with dumb UT 2-8 season football drama...

I'd honestly wouldn't care what the kid says, if he didn't have any real talent.
But-
1) He IS a team guy. He seeks leadership.
2) He DOES have a significant amount of physical ability...
3) He cares about others and that opens many possibilities within a football program and in life.

What the hell is going on between his ears???
Why can't he just FOCUS on his life and make a plan that is best for HIM??

But you misinterpreted the true message. He wasn’t talking to the majority of the fan base. He was talking to the ones that criticize them directly which apparently IS you given that you admitted to telling him to F himself. @chattavol420

How much money are they spending on their education? Oh that's right they are scholarship paying 0.00.
Players come and go buddy, those who go to the games and donate are the reason for your education.
And Yes 3-7 means play better.

A lot of you on the message board most be older fans that don't spend time on Twitter. Fans go after the players personally and tag them. If you have the balls to go after players personally on Twitter then don't be a snowflake who gets their panties in a wad when the players clap back at you.

I asked them over the weekend. He slept at a Holiday Inn. JK.
He is some type of Qb trainer and worked with BM. Not a very smart one because he has provided some details of having met Pruitt and being privileged to view practices and is very critical of Pruitt. Smart individuals would keep that info close to the vest and not vent about it on a fan forum.

So obviously the team is feeling the heat from both the media and the fans...

I completely understand his post. But here's what he doesn't get: I grew up a Tennessee Vol fan. It was in my blood, and on Saturdays I worshipped at the Church of John Ward on AM radio when the Vols weren't on TV (all three channels we had back then). I would have done anything just to have to opportunity to suit up as a Tennessee Vol. Alas, my athletic skill peaked somewhere around 2nd string safety on a 2A high school team. Say what you want about "white privilege", but when you're white, 5-10, a buck-sixty, and they time your 40 with a sundial, well...for some reason Coach Majors never made the offer. So off to the Navy my slow-ass went...

I've spent more time on the crapper at test depth on a submarine in the North Atlantic, waiting on the NCAA football scores to come in over the wire than young Brian Maurer has spent as a UT Vol. I'm gonna go ahead and invoke seniority here and remind him that it is, in fact, people like you, us, and me who have put in more blood, sweat, tears, and yes, money into the UT Football program than his narrow butt can imagine. He's a young man. He has a lot to learn about life, and how it can be harsh, unforgiving, and indeed even unfair at times. Best if he learns it now, before he has to go out into the real world and get his feelings seriously hurt.

I think we've earned the right to call it as we see it, Brian. The Tooth Fairy didn't pay for your scholarship. We did. We don't blame you in any way for what ails UT Football right now, but just to be clear, yes, it is our team. Always has been, always will be. So it was before you got here, and so it will be after you leave. And no, I'm not a fan of "you", I'm a UT Football fan. While I wish you well in life moving forward, once you graduate I will transfer my "fandom" to the next UT Football player wearing your number. Sorry, but that's just the truth.

If you...and YOUR team had spent as much energy on the field as you spent on that Twitter rant, we wouldn't be where we are right now, would we?

Just a thought.

Those details are not of any significance. Attending practices is no big deal. Ever listen to Swain? He’s not exactly supportive anymore either and he’s on the radio! So the point is, not being a fan of Pruitt is not exactly “close to the vest” information.

Atleast Maurer has balls to say something regardless if it ain’t popular. You’d expect this kind of energy from a 5th year starter. Not a sophomore with a 2-3 games of playing time.

Maybe get upset when someone is spreading false information. BM Is 100% Garbage and collecting a $100,000+ education for free
