As you’re typing that up, surely you see how ludicrous it is to keep Pruitt? Why can’t the admin do the same? Absolutely no coach worth his salt will want to come here knowing it’s a win or go home season. Someone that’s struggling financially could say to their agent, “Hey, what’s going on at TN? Do they need any coaches? I need a 1 year payday. Float my name out there.”

If what you’re saying is true, to this ordinary man, the economics of keeping him are far worst than letting him go.
There’s literally not one positive reason to keep Pruitt.

I disagree whole heartedly. 2017 should have beaten Florida in the swamp before the wheels fell off and everyone quit.
Yeah, if we're being 100% honest that Florida game was a chain effect. Tennessee should have beaten them which in return would have beaten SC, UK and Vandy. They would have finished 8-4 and Butch would have been here for another year at least

The snowballing effect of sunk cost fallacy.

It's been snowballing for a while.

Expect coaches to want to strike mitigation clauses now. Sexton would probably line-through the moral turpitude clause, too. Doesn't matter if UT backfills or cleans house-- there's nothing agents love more than blood in the water.

I can’t think of one. Now @LA Vol’s statement eliminates the financial reasoning... he’s done. I’m going to believe that Fulmer is working behind the scenes right now to hire someone else. He does love TN. Surely he can’t allow beating Sarah Fuller and the replacements be the measuring stick of wether or not to keep Pruitt. Can he?🤔

Sitting here thinking about it....Maurer hasn't seen the field hardly at all....he is pretty much just a fan also. Why he getting mad at his own kind?

Seriously.... without typing the word money (Bc let’s be honest, no one except the actual people who handle or provide the money REALLY know...). I would love to hear a valid argument as to why someone thinks Jeremy Pruitt should be our head coach for 2021.

If I were required to make an argument for the other side, the only thing I can come up with is two fold:
1) We appeared to be on the right track until COVID hit and took the wind out of our sails. (On a side note, I believe Fulmer, Pruitt and some of my more conservative friends believe the Knoxville mayor, a democrat, made the social distancing and quarantining rules too strict thus giving us a disadvantage against our competition.)
2) We’ve proven over time here that more change does not mean better results. Maybe it’s time to push through adversity and see how we come out on the other side.

Of course, coaches are wanting their names floated out there. That's been true for the last two coaching searches.

Not sure why people keep thinking I'm some sort of advocate for Pruitt. I've said many times that I never thought Pruitt was a good fit for UT. He wasn't ready for the job and he hasn't learned quickly. I'm not even sure how teachable he is. I think his wife and kids are wonderful, though, and all this hate and negativity is hard on them. Families have it rough during times like this.

Pruitt is who he's always been. The mistake was made when the hire was made. No matter what decision is made now, UT is going to pay and pay and pay for it going forward.
