I think most fans were "nose up" over Napier/Chadwell hires because Freeze/Herman/Campbell are bigger proven names.

I will say though, the only reason Chadwell or Napier should be going to other schools (especially in the SEC) is if we've already hired one of the other bigger names. I do think the decision is above Fulmer's head at this point, and I don't feel like Fulmer has been a bad AD...my biggest red flag thus far with his tenure has been the unrequired, unnecessary contract extension he gave Pruitt this off season. No reason you give a coach who is entering year 3 with a 13-12 record a contract extension that includes the removal of mitigation, zero reason.
Sure there's a reason...because Fulmer is an incompetent athletic director.

Let's say hypothetically that losing to Vanderbilt would guarantee that we clean house (JP and his staff).

Why would I not want Vanderbilt to win the game? A meaningless loss in a season that's already a dumpster fire is not going to change much. Keeping CJP another year will have a massive impact on the program. I look at it like NFL teams tanking for a draft pick.

I'm genuinely interested to hear why people think us beating Vandy is a good thing, and have an issue with those who want Vandy to win.

It’s one thing to talk bout coaches but people need to leave those players alone on social media if you’re not trying to encourage them. It’s a bad look & im sure recruits see this too
I agree with what BM said. It’s why I never use the word “we” when talking about UT. I always thought that was weird unless you were on the team.

Mauer is completely right. People think because they spend money on tickets that they have ownership in the product. Problem is this is not strictly a business. It is much more complicated than that. Supply and demand is simple formula for typical market products. Customers signal to the producer to stop producing the product by not spending the money. That is the core of the process. College athletics is not that simple. These athletes are the product because without them there is no team. They spend ridiculous amounts of time and energy (blood, sweat and tears) to bring that product. To say it is not THEIR team during the time they are there is ridiculous.

I think at this point, if a change was to occur, it is not happening until after early signing day. Pretty sure that is what ole miss did last year.

edit: nope it was Dec 1

Tell me more about this secret offshore account.

It's a small land mass off the shore of Lake Loudon, accessible only by bagmen cloaked in black who're ferried there by houseboat in the darkness of night by a UT guy who operates a multi-million $$$ bag enterprise under cover of an aquatic transport company. Another UT guy stands on his dock and signals "all clear" by flashlight. It's amazing we've been able to keep it secret so long.

I agree with the spirit of what he says but on the other hand there would literally be no point to major college sports without fans. Who would be there to watch or care? It would be club sports.
It still don’t give fans the right to bash kids. They’re like brothers. It’s the same as I can say whatever I need to say to my family but you better not

This is the type of inside information that I have come to expect and deeply desire from VN.

Why do I feel this is more believable than anything I’ve read this morning?
