If Fulmer wants to save himself and still be beloved and save UT football he has to make a move. The next coach may not workout but Fulmer absolutely can’t sink with this ship. He has to at least make an attempt.
All I can say is Fulmer absolutely believes this is the right thing for Tennessee. He's very stubborn and dead set once his mind is made up.

I see this ending poorly for every party involved.

IF stadiums are full next year you’d expect everyone to be eager to get back into some normality and back in Neyland but sadly I think they’ll see 50% or lower capacity even IF they are allowed to be full. Sad times. I used to go all the time and haven’t been in 2 years. Had intentions to go last year but why waste money and resources, when we lost to BYU and GA St it killed my want to go so I just watched on tv. I’m sure others can relate.

Same boat here. Since I graduated I had gone to most home football and basketball games. Only went to 1 football game last year and don’t plan on going again until we are actually good.

After what we've been through in 2020, every sporting event will see huge numbers in regards to attendance, and therefore gate revenue. This thought that Neyland will sit mostly empty is wishful thinking.

Fulmer is tied to JP success at this point. Fulmer has crossed the line a few times as it relates to his AD role and some big time boosters are well aware of this when/if the time comes to ensure he is shown the door if the opportunity presents itself.
HahahHhHahHahahaha I’m crying

YOU McGoo! You’ve done it again!

And the fans (and the community) are the ones that suffer the collateral damage. Everyone else will go home with a cozy severance package.

Yea, but Fulmer knows so much more that an interview is just window dressing. There is a rule now about hiring coaches and being able to get their recruits.

My point all along is that any issue that Fulmer has with Freeze is much more than what happened at OM 5 years ago. Fulmer had relationships with high school coaches including Freeze and then coached against him after Freeze took a lower level job at OM. Fulmer knows more than any of us combined.
Yet here we are still in this same pile of schiano that we’ve been in for 15 years!!

If Pruitt gets 1 more redo on the staff maybe he’ll call on his other attempts and get it right. I really hope we get a new OC - I don’t have any confidence in Chaney (not just play calling but overseeing the whole unit). I think Pruitt can fix the defense. I like the way they tackle just need to figure out the coverages.
I don’t think the problem is Chaney. I think the reason he’s heavy run is because there is no confidence in the QB play. That or he’s being forced. He hasn’t been bad anywhere else, including here.

Most of the class will just get a waiver and go elsewhere.
Maybe. Or we nail the hire and they all stay. It’s easier to convince kids to stay once they’ve signed and give a new coach a chance especially in this year dealing with Covid. If you let him go before ESD, everyone leaves. Just my opinion.... I thought he would be let go after Florida or after ESD. If he stays, it’s not going to be fun in 2021.

Fulmer isn't in this for the money. That's not his driving factor, I just wish he could step back and look at this from a distance. But he's gone too far down this path he chose to turn back. So he's digging in further.

Even South Carolina cited fan apathy when talking about the decision to let Muschamp go. Tennessee is in a world of hurt next year. Our fans are loyal to a fault. Our players deserve to have us there but the university doesn’t deserve our dollars for the crap product the coaches put on the field. Recruiting is a huge part of college football but so many teams do more with “less talented recruits” I’m a firm believer stars matter when it comes to winning championships or the same 4/5 teams wouldnt win it every year but a good coach can win plenty of games with the talent UT has. 3 winning seasons in a row and you could have the worst recruiters signing top 5 classes here. It’s an awful paradox to be in. How do fans support the hard working players who worked so hard for that college football experience of a full stadium yet still show the admin that we are not pleased with the direction of our program?

Disagree, it’s not worth all the hassle to go and watch a poor product on the field. Most fans will casually watch on TV.

Guys just look at the recruits we are losing vs the ones we are offering. Pruitt isn’t going to close the recruiting class the way he has the last two years. He doesn’t have anything to sell. The longer we keep a lame duck coach the more watered down with non SEC talent our roster gets. Our freshman and sophomores are all we have. This class won’t be the worst but there’s no way the 22 class is a success when we miss on two Near 5 star prospects instate. Jordan James is bigger than Ty Simpson in my book. We cannot miss on him but we will.
And we sure as **** know we don’t have anyone to develop players..
