No doubt. I like him a lot. I don’t think they settled.

I happen to believe there’s a reason Satterfield, Brown and Napier were candidates at South Carolina then, BOOM, they’re all out.

I’m not saying USC doesn’t still pick Beamer, he got the Spurrier seal of approval down there and that goes a long way, but something told those other guys to wait. Could be us, could be Auburn, could be nothing.

I really don't find those choices inspiring. We really need to aim higher.

If...and said if it’s true, there is a long history there. Like...Hugh Freeze’s dream job is not UT when he is helping get Michael Oher to Ole Miss and then getting a job by Orgeron just a few weeks later.

I really don’t understand needing to have people in positions who are former Vols.

Imagine cutting the talent pool down to 5% Bc you’re looking for an alumnus.

Let’s start hiring the right people for the job. And more importantly let’s get egos out of the way!

Beamer was USCjr safety net. Their Athletic Department is a mess. They were very limited financially on what they could pay. They were turned down by several sitting HCs. Spurrier did back Beamer and he may end up doing well, but he was not first choice.

You know what’s even more sad than that nonsense? If Fulmer actually fires Pruitt but passes on Freeze because his ego is in the way and hires Coach McGoogle and we’ll likely do this again in a few more years.
