Mike Bobo might actually be a better option than Chaney...him and Friend have worked together well so he's likely more familiar with Friend's strengths as a OL guy and will tailor the offense to that.


I don't know man I feel like Chaney just wanted to come get paid this go round...or maybe I put too much of his success with Dooley on him and not Dooley (who later did similar things at Missouri).

I know this will be unpopular but I like Chaney and want to see him one more year. JG was thr biggest handicap on offense this year and he is finally gone. Also on the coaches show yesterday during the 4th quarter Pruitt said he felt like the offense finally found their identity. This off season, I want to see us work on going 2x2 spread and slinging the ball 40 times a game with HB or JT. Now, the downside to that is. I think that's a good recipe for Pruitt to save his job for another year. And that we can't let happen.

He may do well elsewhere. He has the physical ability, but he just doesn't have the mental development here. Different coaching may change that.

Anybody saying "lose to Vandy and he's done" better have Randy Boyd as an inside source. People who're "hearing things" like that are either speculating or talking to people who're speculating. Randy Boyd's not talking. Phillip's keeping a low-profile. And a game that's likely to be cancelled at a moment's notice is hardly the yardstick.

Hopefully they're working behind the scenes to get someone else in here

That tends to make me think he is worried about kids wavering on their commitment because of the current state of the program. Not encouraging. But not surprising either, what did people expect?

I don't think a true numerical is ever set between a coach and AD, but my point is as long as loser gump guy doesn't have a losing record he will be back.

Certainly not a dig. I appreciate people that really do have insight (I.e @LA Vol, @Kingston Vol, @Atlanta VOL, @MetalVolunteer, @matts42012, @SpringBokVol, NOT @UTSuave’, etc) I m sure I missed a few.

I legitimately want to know. I hate round 99 of coaching hot seat, speculation, search talk, rumor season.

And I enjoy bad humor, which I’m great at.

Ya know, did some research. Mike Bobo to replace Chris Weinke would be a huge improvement. Even if the rest of the offensive staff remains unchanged.

Bobo was the QB coach for Stafford, Murrary, and Greene while at Georgia.

I think though, to put it into perspective--- is that right now a Matt Campbell Iowa State would whip the 'ish out of us... so his #46 players (clearly developed) and staff are better than our #10-15 players and P5 staff.

WE aren’t the standard. How would he fare with #46 ranked classes against Bama, UGA and Florida?

He'd whip the 'ish out of us mostly because we suck.

Campbell is a good coach, he's done a good job at Iowa St, and he's probably at the top of a list of hypothetical candidates. But he gets overhyped just like every other coach in these discussions.
