It’s the accent for me. Or maybe the voice. Or perhaps the mixture of the two.

Either way, it’s not pleasant on my ears.
His voice can get quite annoying. He is a Yankee (Philly) after all. However he loves the Vols so that makes it more bearable

I don't even think the Pruitt hire, at the time, was that bad of a deal. We had awful PR stuff, nobody wanted the job. Pruitt was regarded by a great Xs/Os guy who players loved. Mentorship with Phil to learn the CEO role while being intricately involved in the defense and hiring a solid OC.

But now, it's obvious to see he isn't working here and will never have success here. You know it's over. Just end it.

"Folks at South Carolina believe it's likely Graham is going to join Beamer's staff, but I was told by good source he isn't leaving. So we'll see how that plays out. Friend, Niedermeyer and Tee have expiring contracts but I think it's possible three get offered new ones to stay. "

Barf on Friend.

Am I the only one for coming up with devious plans to get Pruitt fired for cause? I'm beginning to think the rest of you lack Vol spirit.

Are we gonna ignore the fact that Neidermeyer kinda sucks as a position coach and hasn’t landed a big recruit since his first year here?
If we’re being technical, he was Barons primary last year and Willis and Browns secondary. I see what you’re saying but you can’t discount how many big recruits he’s gone after and we’ve been this close to getting them. Also, was/is Lewis’ primary this year

I just dont see how Fulmer can look at Pruitt and the situation and think that Pruitt has a future here. And idk what Fulmer is waiting on pulling the plug either, unless he is finding a guy before he fires cornbread

It's not that difficult to see. Fulmer gave Pruitt an extension and a big raise based on the progress the team made at the end of last year. It's not gonna be a good look for him if he has to pull the trigger in the first year of the new contract. He's in a situation where he can't win here.

If Tee gets a better gig and moves on, then just move Osovet to WRs and move Nieds back to TEs. Is Tee really being considered for HC at South Alabama? Good for him if he is.

I know UT is a disorganized mess but I still find it shocking that we’re gonna keep this guy. What the hell is the point? Only bad things will come from keeping this guy around. He has shown NOTHING to warrant a fourth season

3 things

1) firing Pruitt is an admission of making a huge mistake in hiring

And more importantly
No doubt in my mind on this

2) fulmer believes Covid holds a lot of the blame for this year

3) fulmer believes Pruitt will learn from mistakes

Not defending the Pruitt hire, but to your #1, by the time Fulmer came in the ceiling for the last hire had been dropped to unbearably low standards by by Curry & the admin's actions. People would give CPF more leeway for that than they'll give him for CV-19.

But Fulmer would be irrational to believe is #3. There is nothing in JP's body of work as an assistant or HC that suggests he'll ever change. He's football's Cuonzo Martin. He's convinced he knows more than anyone else and will not change. Where Martin used the race card to attempt to de-legitimize his detractors, Pruitt just tries to act like Saban and run over them.

I would honestly encourage him to go if he wants to so we don't lose the relationship between him and the university.

If they want him as HC, I'd encourage him to go because it's climbing the ladder. You have to start somewhere, and he could get valuable experience there as a HC.

I think Fulmer is extremely hesitant to fire Pruitt because that would be an admission that he himself has failed.
What is the psychological analysis of Fulmer, here? I see many posts claiming he is hesitant to fire. Based on his history with assistants, I admit the notion is valid. But what is it about him that makes him resistant? Does he have a huge ego? Is he too much of a "nice guy"? Is he a narcissist who is never wrong?

Somebody give me the armchair psychologist's diagnosis of Phil.
