Haslams are back channeling and making a push to be back in power. As much as I am not sure if that is best for the program, if it brings us freeze, then let’s ride!Freeze wants this job so bad. He isn’t even hiding it. Signs are in plain sight if you look hard enough at people he is connecting with.
damn, I didn’t know the process would cost 12 milIn my opinion, Dooley is the only one that was a bad hire in hindsight. Kiffin was EXACTLY what this fanbase wanted post-Fulmer, it's too bad a perfect run of events allowed for USC to come open and fall to him. He was going to take that job no matter where he was or how much his buyout was. I don't blame Hamilton for it at all.
But pivoting to Dooley instead of giving Cutcliffe the program was the killer. That one move explains exactly why we are where we are. Hamilton has said recently that a number of big name coaches were not interested in the job because they were convinced Kiffin was dirty and we were going to be left with sanctions in his wake. I believe him when he says that - I believe it was Muschamp and Wittingham who turned us down. But you allow the mess to force you to hire a .500 coach from Louisiana Tech just because his dad was a good coach 25 years prior. Hamilton did that because he didn't want Fulmer back around the complex and he knew he couldn't keep him away if Cutcliffe was the HC.
Butch was a fine hire - he was a proven winner at Cincinnatti and brought the kind of recruiting cheese this program needed at the time. He's a less intelligent Bruce Pearl. It was very close to succeeding.
Pruitt was a fine hire at the time as well - just because he's going to get fired does not mean the process didn't work.
If you know, you'll do better the quicker you move on. AZ got rid of Rosen and have a stud in Murray. That wouldn't have happened if they held the pot committed fallacy3 things
1) firing Pruitt is an admission of making a huge mistake in hiring
And more importantly
No doubt in my mind on this
2) fulmer believes Covid holds a lot of the blame for this year
3) fulmer believes Pruitt will learn from mistakes

Well, what I'm trying to articulate is the coach's record once they arrive on campus should not be the only thing considered when talking about grading the hiring process.damn, I didn’t know the process would cost 12 mil
agreed, and while i'm not gonna sing his praises for this year....i do agree with this.....and that means friend and weinke are probably gone, which is fine. i think tee should consider the USA job. but i think he's also probably wanting to see how things shake out here too.Just my opinion, Pruitt screwed up his coordinators after year 1. I get the Helton move but he should have left defensive side alone. He was better off keeping play calling duties considering that is what got him the job and we were not fully established yet and ready for a hand off. Instead he brings in his boy Ansley and alienates his two LB coaches who then walk to NFL. Some talk that rumph could find his way to S.Car. Pruitt downgraded his own specialty bc he wanted another recruiter. I was good with Ansley as DB but never sold on allowing him to call plays out the gate when your system isn’t fully implemented to the point of riding a bike for the players.
We are a QB and elite pass rusher away from success on field but I fear too much damage has been done in his own staff decisions. I don’t know how he saves it outside of somehow talking Bo and Tosh into joining the D staff and Ansley sticking around. Pruitt call the defense. Let Chaney call all the shots on offensive staff and let him be the offensive HC you wanted him to be.
As for anything related to Jay Graham, listen to AP or Chris Low. Those two are about as close to him as media can be. It’s probably AP closest relationship to an assistant that he has had. If he says Jay is staying he is staying. If he changes tune then you should worry.
Who exactly is he connecting with? Not being facetious - I've heard this a ton but the people making the statement never say the types of people he's connecting with.
@Bassmaster_Vol and @Catbone along with @Big Gucci Sosa are really the best posters on this board. Outside of our insiders.

Their D, albeit big12, has been atrocious this year, and wvu generally has a pretty good D, we saw it. We’ll see if a change is made there if he’s there next year, but I don’t see him going anywhere tbh.Know a guy with connections to his time at Troy. For what it's worth his perception was that he was difficult to work with in a similar vein as Pruitt. IF accurate that would be a red flag for me.
