My other reason why I think Fulmer keeps Pruitt.
Fulmer partially took over in 92 as well all know, so I won't count that year. But it took him until 98 to beat UF. UGA was not an elite program at that time, and Bama was nowhere near Bama today. I think Fulmer remembers this and this will be another reason he keeps Pruitt.

All this coaching search talk and we are not firing CJP this year. I like to pipe dream coaches though. We will go cheap next year if we fire CJP and everyone knows it. When has Tennessee actually hired a coach since Fulmer that the fans wanted?

Between his NCAA baggage and his past dealings with Fulmer, I don't think Freeze gets a call. Not saying he doesn't deserve a call, just that he doesn't get a call. Maybe that changes in a year's time? I don't know. In the end, UT being UT, I fully expect another Coach McGoogle. It's not what I want, but it's entirely what I expect to happen.

I've been pushing for Bob Stoops tonight. He is still wanting to coach but I don't think UT calls him either. I'm ok with Campbell but I'm not crazy about Herman (TX should be the easiest place to win at in the Big 12 and he's not done it. I don't think he'd win here either.)

I really hope they don't wait until next year but given UT's reputation for poor timing and judgment, I can see them messing it up again, like they did with Butch. Someone listed earlier that Freeze and Napier are the ones that have publicly said they want to coach at UT. Freeze is probably the biggest name that is possible for us at this time. I do think the job is more attractive now than it was 3 years ago. I like that Fulmer is AD, the roster is better, and I believe that if the hire is a big enough name, the fan support would be through the roof. It makes too much sense to move on from Pruitt now, which is why I don't think UT does it. I hope they prove me wrong.

If Pruitt stays and we are OC shopping what about Matt Canada? He spent a season at Maryland after the debacle at LSU with Orgeron. Took 2019 off and is currently the QB coach with the Steelers. Maybe he wants to come back to the college game?
