I agree with you, 2 shouldn’t be the call. In 2 the corner sinks until has has a flat threat, Florida ran the back to the flat all day to hold our corner.

that’s just it, we’re asking football players to do a lot of thinking. Instead of just seeing something and reacting.
We have a head coach believes in the genius and is overcomplicating everything for everyone. Basics win football games. For the most part everything is window dressing.

The premise of cover two is to pass off WRs to the safety, so why even call that defense. I remember the play, it was 3rd and 11... WR to the boundary tight split... the gators had run that RB rail route to convert 2 other 3rd downs with inside release by WR. So the CB actually made a smart an instinctive play to get out to the RB... the safety tho... “where he at doe”
