Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2025-26

After watching the South Carolina loss, there is no way Grissett played either guard position. It looked like to me she played mostly the 4 on offense. She is not only a poor outside shooter, she had no assists and was 0-4 from the FT line.

I beleive all the pre-season chatter from South Carolina fans that this team is just as good or even better than last year‘s team has been shown to be not true.

Harris would have gotten this team under control in this game and Both Harris and Harrington would have hit a few outside shots to open up the inside for a win over NCST.

You can never underestimate the loss of not only one team leader but two in how a team will perform when challenged.

SC couldn’t play any worse than they did and yes I knew all along Grissett didn’t have a strong perimeter game. Still a lot to learn for this young team but they will be tested with their schedule and that will help them in March.

Great game between Arizona and UCLA. Arizona edges UCLA 68-65. Two teams that executed well. Great defense both ways and a lot of really tough shots hit. Looked like AZ was going to pull away with 2:00 minutes remaining but UCLA made it a tight one in the last :50.

WNBA mock draft 2021: Will Texas' Charli Collier go No. 1 to New York Liberty?

1. New York Liberty: Charli Collier, C, Texas
2. Dallas Wings: Aari McDonald, SG, Arizona
3. Atlanta Dream: Awak Kuier, C, Finland
4. Indiana Fever: Rennia Davis, SF, Tennessee
5. Dallas Wings: Arella Guirantes, SG, Rutgers
6. Phoenix Mercury: Evina Westbrook, PG, UConn
7. Dallas Wings: Michaela Onyenwere, SF, UCLA
8. Chicago Sky: Dana Evans, SG, Louisville
9. Minnesota Lynx: Natasha Mack, PF, Oklahoma State
10. Los Angeles Sparks: N'dea Jones, PF, Texas A&M
11. Seattle Storm: Tiana Mangakahia, PG, Syracuse
12. Las Vegas Aces: Erin Boley, SF, Oregon

My first thought is, Dallas doesn't need another d*mn guard!! But Charli Collier could be exactly what the Liberty need in their rebuilding efforts (ie, someone to fill the role Tina Charles left open). Indiana confounds me because in theory they should have everything in place to at least get into the playoffs but it never happens. Rennia will do well there, but I don't know if she'll be enough to push them out of the bottom four. Prediction with Dana Evans is, much like Chloe Jackson (who was also drafted to Chicago) there won't be many minutes given to her. I wonder how she'll translate into the pros.

I don't think it's a given that Collier leaves early.

Overall, this looks like a weak draft. I pity Dallas to have 3 first round picks in such a crappy draft. I don't know where Rennia would fit best. Maybe Atlanta as an upgrade from Stricklen. Chicago or Indiana are unlikely, as both teams already have stars (or stars in the making) playing the wing. Maybe Dallas, unless they plan on using Sabally at the 3.

My overall guess is that Rennia will get drafted and traded. She's too good to fall beyond #4, but she might not fit the team's need so would be drafted as the proverbial "best player available" for some wheeling and dealing.

I was thinking Atlanta too,,,,with the loss of Angel, stricklin was adequate but not equal
I think Davis will ultimately be equal to Angel

I hope Walz gets one. He’s a heck of a basketball coach. Like a lot of great coaches he has a polarizing personality. He’s put in his time and been really close, I think it would be neat to see him win one. Would be awesome for their team as well. These days I’m generally happy as long as ‘U’ know Who doesn’t win lol.

And yes. I’m just a bitter Lady Vol fan pining for the days of old. Here’s hoping!

Just watched the replay of the game the Cal transfer 6-0 G-W Kianna Smith she can flat out ball good shooter and can take you of the bounce. This was a very good pickup by Louisville

Yes she’s excellent. I think she’ll be moving into their starting lineup very soon.

Guirantes was the number 100 player in the 2016 class with a score of 91 and now is the 5th choice in the draft.

I highly doubt Rennia is picked in the top 10 of the draft, going on what she has done so far this year . not a legend!

Fortunately for Davis, she has the chance to make a statement against the projected #1 next weekend...

Vandy getting outplayed by Little Rock so far. With their COVID issues I’m sure they haven’t practiced together much. They look tired and unorganized. If several of them had it I feel for them. I was pretty fatigued for about a week and half even after I was better.

Yeah, the bottom of the SEC is taking it on the chin.
Auburn lost to Houston of the AAC, Vandy lost to Little Rock and Alabama is losing to Oklahoma St.
Here's a very strange scoring pattern. South Carolina Upstate played St. Andrews (?). The score was tied at half 20-20. SCU then proceeded to score 48 points in the 3rd quarter alone. Probably an error in reporting the score.

Bama says not so fast lol! Kristy is a good coach. She’s without some of her better players today.
Agree the bottom of the SEC is looking rough though.

We'll have our hands full when we play at Alabama it is a game I dread. We never play well against them and surely don't think we'll get another 35 footer from Davis. Something about that team that brings out the worst in us.
