Good morning VN,
Took me a while to get to the point where I could share this.

My 18 year old son has now been in drug rehab for 2 weeks. He started vaping, then graduated to vapes with THC. 4 days before my birthday, he fell down our stairs because he was too stoned. He was unable to even be coherent. Scared me to death. Took him to the nearest ER, he was okay once he cleared. Was stoned again on my birthday. Then swore to his counselor and myself that he was done (having a drug buy already set up for that same day.)
He agreed that he had a problem when I did a urine drug screen and it came back positive for nicotine, THC, Benzodiazepines, Tramadol, and Fentanyl. I did believe him when he said that he was only vaping. He realized that the vapes were being juiced by the dealers with stronger stuff.

He will hopefully come home a week from tomorrow. I am praying that he will understand how dangerous his activities were and that addiction is a lifelong issue.

If I could ask for prayers for his safe return and future, I would greatly appreciate it.

My children are my world, I think that he agreed to go to rehab because I told him that he was literally killing me. He could see the truth of that in my eyes.

Thank you very much VolNation.
Fentanyl is poisoning and killing so many of our young daily. Too many people find out when it is too late. At least you get a chance to help make it right. Prayers and nothing but the best.

Glad Bailey is starting. I will be mad af if we play conservative. Also, if we hear “he doesn’t know the playbook to open it up” or something along those lines after the game, then everyone should be lighting his ass up afterwards
I could see it being conservative. Not so much because Bailey. But because it was the Arky gameplan, somewhat the Auburn plan, the run game with Gray is looking better, and UF's offense is far more dangerous than either of those teams.

I mean, if you realistically want to win...you may have to shoot for a high-variance strategy - a crazy type of Ga Tech gameplan might be it. Run the clock down every play, go for 4th downs, etc. If you can limit UF to, say, 8 possessions all game and get lucky and get 2+ TOs...who knows.

Absolutely no other game would I be for a suboptimal offensive gameplan, but UF's offense is just so good that it might make you adjust. If both teams get off 12+ possessions, you really don't stand a chance. Their per-possession advantage is just too big.

First mistake Bailey makes....Pruitt will yank him....just get ready.
And if JP pulls that ish you can add me to the fahrhisassrightnow crowd. Today is the first time I’ve been excited to watch us play in a long while. HB will make mistakes but I’m excited to finally get a sense of his potential upside. Go Vols and Go HB! Let’s ride!

You and your family will be in our prayers, doc. Our family has dealt with this as many have. We have two nephews who went really deep into it, that were 15 years making it fully out. So its good you are catching this early. They are both very functional and in good places in their lives now with good jobs and families that have solidified despite having many previous relationships and children. One had even lost joint custody rights of his two sons to the drug addicted ex and her family. He now has full custody as his ex lost all parental rights. He has a wonderful wife who opened her arms to the sons and a new baby of their own. He did the work to get clean and be productive, was patient, and it all worked out. His sons have adjusted and are so happy now.

My advice is to not be embarrassed and afraid to discuss it. Seek support from others who have walked the path. Stay vigilant, stay a parent, and somehow someway help the son to know Jesus in a deep, personal way while he rehabs. Ultimately, He is the way, truth and light that will lead him out of the darkness.

Prayers sent Volsdoc. Get his focus on the future and off the past. There’ll come a time to revisit days gone by and he’ll make amends I’m sure but everyone’s focus needs to be on the future right now. Focus on recovery recovery recovery. It’ll take time but eyes forward...one day at a time. He’ll make it and so will you. Love

Texas high school player goes after ref

siap. i don’t think this kid deserves to play the game again...ever.

I heard the whole story last night. Did the same thing in soccer, but didn’t hurt the ref...#1 ranked wrestler in his weight class in the state too.(for his division).
Is a senior. Police were called, charges pressed and will likely have to stand trial as an adult. In Texas crime by 17 y/o is tried as an adult...not gonna be good.

I never thought it a million years no matter how bad we are that I would be like meh on the morning of the Florida game. This just feels so weird to me. I have come to the conclusion that in all my years of fandom they have finally got the best of me and I have basically just checked out. Didn't even think it was possible, but here I am.
Yup, from about 2012-2018 I thought we had a real chance every time. They were soo beatable. Now they are back to basically out of our reach as long as we are this bad under Pruitt.

Pruitt inspires no hope.

Doc, I’d highly recommend “Discovery Place” in Dickson, TN. My little brother and my wife’s cousin came back from hard drugs to being the clean, solid, hard working dudes everyone thought they’d be. It’s run by a great bunch of dudes who’ve also “been there, done that.”
@VolsDoc81TX I can confirm. I'm from Dickson and know people who've been through there and who help people when they come out the other side. Go follow "EB Intervention Team" on facebook. Contact them and ask to talk to TJ Pass. I've known TJ a long time, and he's dedicated his life to situations like this and people in your son's shoes.

For me today, if we lose by 14 or less, I'll be like, "hmmm, not too bad". That's pathetic.
I see today as a game of hope...if Bailey comes out and leads us to a very competitive loss or the unthinkable upset win, then we have hope for the future. If we get blown out as we expect, then we have hope Fulmer and the admin will decide it’s time to pull the plug now.
