From what I understand, JG had to be away from the team all week. He is cleared from quarantine today.

So, he could play, but it would be on no practice.

Well, to be fair, we were all being pretty silly about the idea Florida State or Alabama (in a couple years) might come after him.

Also any coach showing a semblance of momentum gets an extension after year two. It’s stupid, but it’s the game.

On the Urban Meyer talking to Power 5 AD and President, the source for the article was 99% his agent and it’s called creating a market for yourself. The conversation may not have gone anywhere and Meyer could have laughed his a$$ off, but it lets other schools who might be interested know it’s game time.

And, how do we know that Tennessee hasn’t done this?

Plus, Texas hasn’t exactly hit home runs with their latest hires and “throwing money around” (they’ve actually not done that). So what makes them different than Tennessee?

I did k-3 in Charleston, S.C. Grades 4-6 were in Meridian, MS. Grades 7-8 and the beginning of 9 were in Mayport, FL. Finished high school at Bearden. Class of '92.

yeah, and it is a bit of revisionist history to now say "where was all this talk about him leaving?"

hell, the day he was hired, someone, somewhere, extrapolated he'd be taking SAban's place at Bama w/in 5 years.

and coming off last season, and how recruiting was this spring.....lol...most of us were feeling pretty damn good about ourselves....fulmer included. so he extended the guy. at the time it happened, it wasn't a thing, and it made sense.

hindsight is a beautiful thing.

if you want to get bent about the extension, fine, but what was going up leading up to it, at the time, it at least made sense.

that it doesn't now, well, you're crying over spilt milk. can't put it back in the bottle.

I did grammar school in west tennessee, Oregon, Great Falls MT and Anchorage AK through high school. Chugiak High class of '91(same school as Neids)
