For you guys saying 7 wins isn’t enough just remember that fulmer mentioned Jon majors record for comparison this week to Pruitt



Majors went 5-6 in year four


No chance fulmer fires Pruitt at 7-5 if it’s in his hands

Look at some past coaches. Saban went from a losing season to 12. Dabo went from 6 to 10. Caroll at USC went from 6 to 11. Fleck went from 7 to 11. At UGA Richt went from 8 to 11. Herman went from 7 to 10 in year 2. If Pruitt is the guy he will make a big jump next year. He's had 3 years to build his roster not counting the class the year he was hired.

Majors also had a NC on his resume and was a beloved former player. Pruitt is neither he has already lost the fan base and after FL whips him early next year there won't be 70k in the stands for the next home game. Fulmer will be forced to make a move.

A really interesting thing would be how you reach those 6 to 8 wins.

Without looking at the schedule, my guess is Pruitt wouldn’t be able to get off to a slow start then beef the win column up at the end of the year.

As hard is as it is to admit we aren’t in the same positions as those programs now.


Georgia and florida are just too strong and we have bama every year. 9-3 is our ceiling until we can win 7-8 games a year for a sustained Period of time

Oddly enough I do think if Bailey had played every game this season we would have beaten Arkansas & Auburn.

Think how much better Bailey would have been playing the full season? Ultimately the trust/loyalty to JG and Weinke has hurt Pruitt's success here more than anything else imo.

Next year the big ooc game is Pittsburgh as long as that game is played. We also have Bowling Green. 0 reason the Vols aren't 4-0 heading into UF.

False. A good coach has us competing with them in year 3 and beating them in year 4.

We’ve already established that QB play elevates the team, so in the fall of 2021 either Bailey or a transfer plays really well for us. There’s only 3 unwinnable games, and TN goes 8-4. This shows enough improvement for Pruitt to land that loaded class in 2022. They finish top 10 in the recruiting rankings with Simpson heading up that class.

We then go into 2022 with a Junior HB, a Rfr Salter, freshman HB, that loaded 20’ class as juniors more hopeful than we are now. Maybe by then Pruitt has learned and is doing a better job. HB then hands the reins to Salter or Simpson who elevates the program even more

I’m not saying this happens, I’m not saying that I believe that it happens, but this is a possible scenario.

Let's talk about the scenario that will happen. Pruitt stays. JG returns, and he starts next year too.

We would need to see hope out of Bailey to be hopeful going into 2022. That would mean we’re competitive with everyone and he’s putting up good numbers

Pitt could beat us and they probably would if we played today. Ole Miss is probably a loss, UK and Mizzou will be tough on the road. We could easily end up 5-7. Neither 5-7 nor 6-6 is worth him sticking around another year.

No one should be ok with 6 wins. We shouldn't be going into year 4 debating whether we can get to .500 next year or get to 7 wins with an upset somewhere along the way.

You're right...it is hell on earth.

Also, with an easy schedule like that, I could just as easily argue it would be beneficial to let a new coach get some faux momentum and easy wins as i could argue it’s an opportunity for Pruitt to survive.

Fulmer needs to be escorted to the door, and then Pruitt follows.
