Florida lost another player from the ‘18 class to the transfer portal. This time former 4 star RB Iverson Clemente.

That makes 15 Kids from the ‘18-20 classes that have either transferred or JUCO’d out.

I think they’re being anchored by insanely elite QB play this year but that their depth will be tested immensely next season.

Also, can we talk about their numbers? Signed 24 kids last year and took in SEVEN transfers. Currently have 26 kids committed this cycle and is taking transfer RB Demarcus Bowmen.

Wtf gives??
I've been asking that. It makes no sense. Do the number rules not apply to them?

Why does it have to be about race? Why can’t we hire the best and employ who we think is the best candidate. If that means black, white, Asian, etc. then hire who is the best fit.
So the recycled good old boy hires have a spotlight on them. As long as the old guard have no accountability...why change? Tony Dungy should never have had to wait as long as he did to get an opportunity. Marion Campbell, Rich Kotite, Wade Phillips etc shouldn’t have been part of the delay...multiple times.

How about Marvin Lewis? Dude had 9 lives in Cincinnati.

I agree with you on all of this, however, I would argue the decision-making process for "who should play" is a lot more fair than the hiring process.

I don't really want to have this conversation on a website that is 98% white with a fanbase that is probably 75% conservative. It's clear how it's going to go and 1) this isn't the place for it and 2) I legitimately have no interest in getting people upset.

All I'll say is, we have made the decision we're fine with black people filling 61% of the labor positions, but we don't hire them at commensurate rates for the position that would require them to be the faces of our programs or our decision makers.

And I would say it doesn't have to be deemed as "racism." People employ people who look like them, no matter the job or industry. College football is no exception.

I’m white

I’m conservative

But I agree that there needs to be something done but I am just not sure what the answer it.

I think he’d be a definite take even if he’s not 100%. Worst case he provides great mentorship for a young qb room. Best case, he can replicate what he did at UCF.
He's not gonna pick a school where he has to be a mentor to the QB room. He wants a shot at the NFL and he's going to go where he thinks he can start next year.

I forget exactly how it worked for them, but they had some space to backcount and 3 or so of those transfers weren't scholarship guys.

That kind of undersells the "labor positions." Andy Reid might be the head coach in KC, but Mahomes is the face of the organization and makes a ton more money. If either he or Reid had to go, it's obvious which one would go.

Two things!...who the hell was #70 my god what a mountain. Secondly it’s crazy to sit here and think back how big of a deal it was back then for someone nailing a 50+ yard field goal.today with all the new technology and workouts improving your body 50 yards isn’t so difficult now
If Medley hits his ~50 yarder in 2015 we would have been in Atlanta for a big time rematch vs Bama.

Talk about a butterfly flapping its wings in China...

And that is your opinion. I think race is played up way too much. I was a minority at my high school and I loved my school. I don’t see race and think everyone who works hard will be successful.

Quick question...does gump Pruitt still get a bonus of 200k this year if he take a 2-8/3-7 team to a bowl game?

Don’t even really wanna know but I’ll ask..with the recent Decommits where are the vols at right now on the rankings👀😅

Fair point. Let me play devil's advocate if you will. One could legitimately, ask the question why 61% of college football players are black. The implication is that the 10.8% representation of black coaches is too low and due to racism. On the other hand, one could also argue on the same premise that it's due to racism that 61% of players are black. The only way to reconcile all of this is to put the best coaches on the sideline and the best players on the field solely based on coaching skills/athletic skills regardless of ethnic background. Whenever we start making decisions to reward/ punish/include/exclude with race as a criteria, it's generally the beginning of confusion and division.
Common. Sense. America greatly lacks it

That’s awesome if you were everyone out there. Also you SEE race...you just don’t let it influence your decisions? I’ve lived too long to agree with the bolded. I’m not for MANDATING who people hire...just make them explain their answer better. There are those who bash the Rooney Rule and that’s ridiculous imo. These are individual billion dollar corporations when we’re talking NFL and multimillion dollar ventures when we’re talking NCAA. You can only do so much, but not letting them hire and hide isn’t socialism.

If Vandy gets O’Brien and we stick with Pruitt, there’s a real chance we slip behind them again in the SEC pecking order.
I think Vandy's academic requirements will always hinder them from climbing out of the cellar.
