Is this Phil saying Pruitt will be back?

To me it certainly sounded like Fulmer has ZERO intentions of firing Pruitt.

However I highly doubt anyone is going to say “yes that guy is about to get fired”.......if they weren’t ready to do it yet.
We knew for several weeks that Fulmer was not firing him. The question is if and when the boosters will make it happen. They might even decide to get rid of both if we lose to Vandy. I don’t think that happens now if reports are true that JG is done as a starter. We beat Vandy easy with HB and maybe will give Florida and Texas A&M a game.

What’s comical is that he can sell that 2-and-5 load of crap and folks like you will buy it.

I wonder what his enlightening line will be when we are still stuck on 2 wins when this season mercifully ends?

I'm pretty pissed that he is 2-5. I just think it's premature and not prudent to make a coaching change. Some of us are in the middle, dude. It's not black and white.

That would probably have been true had he been given meaningful snaps up until this point but he hasn't and he is going to struggle against UF and A & M. Vandy will be a challenge

Fulmer IS the problem.

Until he is retired to the Golf Course for good, we are what we are.

WRONG! I'm as frustrated with CJP playing Garantano as anybody, but we are where we are because Phil Fulmer was fired as head coach. I remember that several people on here said that we would suffer for years, and we have! Miss those days when we weren't just another college with a football team. We were a major program that other teams were afraid to play! A perineal top 10 team.

We are not where we are at because we fired Fulmer. We are where we are at because Hamilton and subsequent ADs sucked and you want to know how Hamilton ended up with the job? Phil Fulmer endorsed him, wanted him and lobbied for him to get the position.

Phil needed to go in 2005.

Pruitt needs two more seasons at least. Remember this was always a 5 year rebuild let JP get his all recruits in first then by the 2023 season we can make a full judgment on Pruitt and if we need to continue to move forward with him as coach. Every coach should get a mulligan thus season with the covid issues that’s why it surprised me that SC and Vandy fired their coaches. We can’t fully judge Pruitt on this season alone I mean the team lost valuable spring practice time and we lost fall practice time as well in September. He may have to make some staff changes though this offseason a new DC and OC.
Can we just be patient.

CPF should have never been fired. Who fires a HOF coach who has won a National Title? There were a lot of stupid fans back then too. He earned the right to leave of his own choosing. We are still paying for that sin today.

LOL

He rested on his laurels and got fired for it. It's a "what have you done lately" game and from 1998 to 2008 he hadn't done much.

Would you keep an employee that won employee of the year once and then after that coasted for 10 years?

Two points
1) We are not “better than 2-5” Phil. You Are what your record says you are
2) I am soooooooo sick of the “we’re a young team”excuse. We have a mix of classes the same as every other team in the nation and probably the same average age per player (although with AARP spokesman Guranatano on the roster, our average age is probably higher than most).
so either come up with some new excuses Philip, or just be quiet.

Lets hope Bailey plays and the real UT players show up. I think they have quit on JG.
Bailey needs to play these last few games to get experience and use the games for practice. That's the logical thing to do but UT has a dumbass for coach who has no logic so best of luck with that happening.

And we’ve done so much better since we fired CPF, right? Firing coaches has worked so well for us, let’s just keep on doing it.
We finally have football people in charge and we need to be patient. And the ANTIFA of Volnation needs to stay on their meds, nothing needs burned down.

Firing coaches hasn't been the problem. Hiring bad ones and keeping them too long has been the problem and 'ol Phil is continuing the tradition.

Phil should have never been hired as AD, you don't fire an employee and 15 years later hire him to run your company.

This all started when CPF was fired. You can move the goalposts all you want but the facts is the facts.

No, Fulmer got lazy and started to decline.

It’s the freaking idiots in the Administration that couldn’t hire a decent replacement.

Now, Fulmer screwed that up too.

You're right. Facts are facts.
Facts: Two of Fulmer's last four seasons were losing seasons. Fulmer's 2008 recruiting class was ranked outside of the top 30 nationally and 8th in a 12 team SEC. Things were trending downward
Fact: To people who don't stand for mediocrity, his firing was justified
Fact: We've made terrible hires ever since which has landed us in this predicament

I don't think there is any question he is laying the groundwork for answering all the "why wasn't CJP fired" questions that he is going to get once the season ends. That was the rehearsal.

Well I’m not sure about giving texas a&m and Florida a game. The rest of the team shows no interest in winning games or they just suck, I don’t know which. Heck beating vandy is a crap shoot.
