The curve did get flattened but it has reared it’s ugly head is on the upswing again just as was predicted. Highest daily counts of incidences, highest daily count of deaths, and most number of people in hospital right now.

And it could have and should have been flattened further had more people worn masks and practiced social distancing

So they’re really saying that if we want to control the spread of any infection, we need to control the asymptomatic spread.

I got what the article was saying, I just found it interesting they are sourcing new guidelines with submitted but unpublished studies. You can't read their second source yet until it's peer reviewed.

Dear, God. Are you completely blind? People ARE wearing masks, almost everything is shut down in many parts of the country, and we treat each other in passing as if everyone has leprosy. If you disagree, why do even the strictest areas look just like everywhere else?

The damn virus is spreading like influenza and other similar viruses do, and it's doing exactly what I was afraid of 5 months ago: taxing hospitals in respiratory season. We chose this path by disallowing any development of herd immunity in the safer/warmer months, and now we must face the consequences.

I do sincerely hope we can get at least a couple of those vaccines quickly mobilized to offer to the most elderly and compromised. That's the only thing that is going to save lives, at this point.

Trump did say it was this "one person from China", when asked if Covid presented a problem to the US. Maybe he told that person that it's a free country and let them be on their way.

Yep I laughed when they moved all the sports back to cold season in North Carolina.... these people are idiots and they want us to “trust the experts”..... I agree with you on herd immunity..... we still haven’t had a second infection for anyone in my building.... not saying it isn’t possible but hasn’t happened yet.

If everyone knew that this was going to explode when we got to respiratory season, why didn't they make more icu rooms?

It's not like the Government hasn't been handing out money like crazy.

Sorry but less than 50% are wearing masks outside in every place I visit (except in public venues when it is mandatory) and less that 25% of people I see are social distancing. So yeah, I stand by my comment if more people wore masks and socially distanced the curve would have been flattened more. With respect to Herd immunity? Your beliefs on that are not within the views of our country's experts who say the only safe herd immunity will result from a vaccine. BTW just got new glasses 20-20 in right eye and 20-15 in left eye as corrected.
