I’m buying. Urban to Texas for 8 figures a year.Man, that's good stuff right there. Even better than the "analysis" of the pic of Currie on the plane from our last search.
I don't think it would put a big dent in Saban's legacy, but there would definitely be people who would try and argue that 2 at UF, 1 at OSU, and 1 (at least) at Texas is more impressive than 1 at LSU and 5 (at least) at Alabama. And TBH, I'd kind of buy that argument.I’m buying. Urban to Texas for 8 figures a year.
Here’s a question....
If Urban won a National Title at Texas would that put a big dent in Saban’s legacy as the greatest coach ever given that Urban would have 2 at Florida, 1 at Ohio State and 1 (at least) at Texas? That’s pretty strong .

Winning titles at 3 different big time programs, in 3 different conferences, would be mind-blowing. Urban is the epitome of questionable human being, incredible football coach. I actually think he's underrated in some fashion as a football mind, and he's already pretty highly rated.
They are actually debating which of those two is better? If anyone wants a good free coaching search thread to live vicariously, this is the one. In addition to FlightAware tracking, rando Twitter account analysis, and Zoom hotel room forensics, you’ll get conversation on great burger joints, which town is the worst in Texas, and the Gulf beaches of Florida vs. Texas. Fair warning: Definitely more R-rated conduct code than VolNation.
Urban Meyer or bust [Today started on page 175]
Yes, I have been saying this all along. Winning a NC at 3 different schools has never been done before. Several coaches have won multiple conference and national championships at the same school. This is the reason Saban should have taken the Texas job earlier to accomplish something no one else has ever done before.I’m buying. Urban to Texas for 8 figures a year.

In my experience in the Northwest Florida beaches, there are actually a lot of Georgia people there (Georgia has a beach of its own, but it's Atlantic-only). Also quite a few people from Texas vacation there, because Texas beaches suck, also Louisiana and Mississippi. There are of course people from Alabama there, but I wouldn't say it is overrun by them. They tend to stick to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach. It's pretty heavily tilted to the Florida beaches being better, but they lose points for being overrun by people from Alabama
I wish Saban would’ve taken the job, but I don’t think he should’ve. Or I don’t blame him for staying. Like everything in Texas, Longhorn Football has a grossly inflated view of itself.Yes, I have been saying this all along. Winning a NC at 3 different schools has never been done before. You don't think Urban Meyer, in the BigXII, recruiting in Texas, with that budget, can get Texas in the top 4-8 (which I define as being in the conversation for the playoff) by year 3?
I think that says far more about you than it does Urban Meyer.
